Our music program is growing, and we are excited to launch an MTA Instrument Drive to help provide more opportunities for our students!

If you have a lightly used musical instrument or music accessory that is sitting at home and no longer being played, please consider donating it to our music program. What may be unused in your home could become an exciting new opportunity for an MTA student!

What We’re Collecting:

• Band & Orchestra: Woodwinds, brass, bowed strings, percussion
• Folk Instruments: Acoustic guitars, ukuleles, banjos, mandolins
• Electronic Keyboards: Fully working electronic keyboards only
• Accessories & Supplies: Cases, stands, tuners, rosin, strings, picks, and more

*Please note: We are not accepting acoustic (wooden) pianos*

Drop-offs can be made in the Main Office during our open hours between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Thank you for considering supporting our students and helping us continue to build a music program that inspires the next generation of musicians — one instrument at a time! Please direct any questions to Jennifer Jauss at [email protected].

Mother Teresa Academy has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Outstanding Visual Arts Community for 2025–2026!

This honor reflects our commitment to providing students with a strong, high-quality visual arts education. We are so thankful for our art instructor, Mrs. Rodgers, for fostering creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-expression, helping our students develop skills that support success both in and beyond the classroom.

We couldn’t be prouder of our students and Mrs. Rodgers for this tremendous achievement. Great work, Saints! 🎨

What a special day at MTA! Today, our school community came together to celebrate our first Mass of the school year, our first Mass in our new building, and the feast day of Mother Teresa, which we will celebrate tomorrow, September 5.

In honor of Mother Teresa and her beautiful example of selfless service, we reflected on one of her most beloved quotes:

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Inspired by these words, each homeroom chose a small act of service to complete next week, embracing Mother Teresa’s call to serve others with love and compassion. One student from each grade shared their class’s chosen act of service and placed a rose before Mother Teresa as a symbol of their commitment to live out her example.

Fr. Ben shared a beautiful homily about Mother Teresa, inviting our students to reflect on the qualities that made her such a remarkable example of faith, love, and service.

We are so grateful to be back together as one MTA family, celebrating the Eucharist and beginning this new school year in our beautiful new home. What a blessing to gather, pray, and serve together! ✝️🕊️

Yesterday, Fr. Ben and Ms. Carlson spent some time with kindergarten this afternoon showing them around Blessed Sacrament Church. They walked through what Mass looks like and answered their questions. A huge thank you to Fr. Ben and Ms. Carlson for helping them get ready for their first Mass at MTA. They had a blast! ✝️

Third and fourth grade took some time to enjoy the sun during their first days of school! They played math review games, did team-building activities, and learned about milkweed while looking at their monarch butterfly caterpillars. 🐛

As we prepare to welcome students back for another exciting school year, we want to take a moment to share some wonderful news in the life of Mother Teresa Academy.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Mr. Bill Hall as the new principal of Mother Teresa Academy.

Bill is a highly respected educational leader whose career spans more than four decades in both public and Catholic education. Most recently, he served as principal for the Erie Catholic School System at St. George and Blessed Sacrament Schools. Prior to joining the Erie Catholic School System, Bill worked in public education, serving over a decade as superintendent and assistant superintendent of the Millcreek Township School District. He also served as both an elementary and secondary principal in the Oil City Area School District. Earlier in his career, Bill spent 18 years in the classroom, teaching students in private, public, remote, and at-risk learning environments.

Throughout his career, Bill has demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, servant leadership, and the formation of young people. His experience, faith, and passion for Catholic education make him the ideal leader to guide Mother Teresa Academy into its next chapter. Please join us in warmly welcoming Bill to our school family.

On a personal note, Bill and his wife, Jane, have been married since 1984. Together they have four children and five grandchildren. We are delighted that they will be part of our Mother Teresa Academy community. 💙🧡
