Thursday is their written final, and then they will have officially completed all EMT course requirements — including ride outs and clinical rotations!

Our AVHS Construction team took home the People’s Choice Award in the CIEF Open Shed Category! Out of 585 students and 39 teams, our students and their project, “The Hound House,” came out on top!

We’re so proud of our AVHS CTE team, students, and partners who continue to represent excellence, leadership, and dedication. From celebrating award winners to connecting with industry partners, the night was a powerful reminder of the impact CTE has on our students and community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support our programs—we couldn’t do it without you!

A special congratulations to Tom Hoegerman, former AVUSD Superintendent, on receiving the Founder’s Award at the 2026 MDCP Gala! Mr. Hoegerman’s legacy and lasting impact on career technical education and student opportunities across AVHS continue to be felt today. As a member of the original founding team when MDCP first began, his vision helped shape the opportunities our students benefit from today.
Even now, he remains deeply involved in AVHS CTE, personally supporting students and continuing to fund awards that recognize their hard work and success. While he was unable to attend, we were honored to have his son, William Hoegerman, accept the award on his behalf. Thank you for your leadership, continued support, and unwavering commitment to our students. AVHS CTE truly appreciates you!
