Honors College Celebrates First Year It’s been almost a year since the honors program at the University of South Alabama became the Honors College. The college’s first dean, Dr. Kathy Cooke, says her students are as varied as the projects they tackled this year.

Honors students register for classes at Registration Day in the Bethel! Advisers were available to anyone who needed assistance, along with grilled cheese and grilled donuts!

Hey guys! So many exciting events are happening over the next week that you can get involved in!
1. Tomorrow, February 22nd, is Children's Miracle Network Fundraising Day! From 8am-8pm tomorrow, USA Dance Marathon will be raising money for our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, USA Children's & Women's as a kickoff to Dance Marathon weekend! The goal for the day is $5000!! You can donate online to the Honors College team page at https://events.dancemarathon.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=27875 or stop by the Student Center and show your support at the USADM table!
2. Saturday, February 24th, is USA Dance Marathon!! There is still plenty of time to participate. Join the Honors College team and come stand in support of the children that can't. Use promo code "USA5" to get 50% off your registration.
3. Tuesday, February 27th, is V-Day's Day of Silence. Stand in solidarity with survivors who are silent about their assaults from 6am-6pm. "Silent in Solidarity" buttons can be picked up in the Bethel.
4. Wednesday, February 28th, at 7pm in the Student Center ballroom is the V-Day Va**na Monologues! Come watch as the V-Day cast presents "A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer." Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go to the R**e Crisis Center of Mobile & V-Day.

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great time at Mardi Gras! I wanted to remind you all that USA Dance Marathon is only 10 days away! USADM is an 9-hour event that raises money for our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, USA Children's & Women's. USADM was founded in an Honors 201 class, and the Honors College plays a huge role in the success of the event. Participating is easy - register online and pay your $10 registration fee (this covers your food and an event t-shirt). That's it! You will be given a fundraising page that you can share on all social media platforms which allows others to donate to USADM!
