Our Spring 2026 IET classes finished with a bang! Our Pre-Health and Pre-Construction crews ditched the screens for some serious hands-on action at our final in-person event.

Pre-Health (Ms. Walker’s Class): Mastering the essentials! Students got hands-on with vital signs and crushed their CPR practice. 🩺❤️

Pre-Construction (Mr. Segal’s Class): Safety first, building second! These students put their tool skills to the test, crafting custom planter boxes. 🛠️🪵

We are so proud of these students as they gear up for technical colleges and the local workforce. The future is looking bright (and very well-built)! 🌟

📚 Bingo, Books, and Big Smiles! 📖✨

What a way to wrap up! Our Family Literacy Program went out with a bang on May 6 with a final round of Bingo for Books. Since January, our amazing ESOL parents and Edgewood Academy students have been working hard to level up their English and literacy skills. We are so proud of the progress everyone has made!

Our Adult & Career Education crew didn’t just meet their goals this semester—they absolutely crushed them! While the target was 70%, a massive 81% of students stepped up to complete their post-testing. Talk about dedication! 💪✨

To celebrate all that hard work, we leveled up with the 70-Minute Challenge. Students raced through 7 different stations in 10-minute sprints, testing their teamwork and communication skills. It was an afternoon packed with collaboration, high energy, and (of course) plenty of fun! 🏁🎉

On Wednesday, April 29th, Dunbar Community School and Lee County Adult & Career Education were proud to host an SSLO Implementation & IET Design Workshop in collaboration with ACE of Florida.

It was a packed house! 🏢🔥 Our educators dove deep into the world of Integrated Education and Training (IET), focusing on how to create and utilize a Single Set of Learning Objectives (SSLO). This strategy is the "secret sauce" to successfully blending literacy, life skills, and workforce training within the adult education classroom.

The day was more than just professional development—it was an engaging, high-energy session full of valuable takeaways and a whole lot of fun. We are committed to staying at the forefront of workforce education to better serve our students and our community!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success.
