📚 Master of Arts in Special Education Students Hold 2025 Research Colloquium
November 8, 2025 | Saturday

The Colloge of Graduate Studies Department has successfully conducted the Research Colloquium for the Master of Arts in Special Education students on November 8, 2025 (Saturday), showcasing innovative studies and research-based practices aimed at advancing inclusive education.

The event provided a platform for graduate students to present their thesis proposals and completed research to a distinguished panel of experts, fostering academic exchange and professional growth among future special education leaders.

The colloquium featured two clusters of panelists who evaluated and guided the student researchers throughout the session.

Panel members for Cluster 1 was Dr. Melda M. Uychoco and Prof. Dan Vergel Masiong and for Cluster 2 was headed by Prof. Stella Donondon and Prof. Jan Kenneth Laguardia, who offered valuable comments on research methodologies, ethical considerations, and the applicability of findings to real-world special education settings.

Throughout the event, participants demonstrated their dedication to promoting inclusive learning environments and addressing the diverse needs of learners with disabilities. The panel commended the presenters for their academic rigor, creativity, and commitment to evidence-based practice.

This activity emphasized the importance of continuous research in shaping the future of special education, noting that “every study presented today brings us closer to a more inclusive and equitable education system.”

The Research Colloquium concluded with words of encouragement from the panel members inspiring the students to pursue further research that contributes to the advancement of the field and to the empowerment of learners with special needs.
