🎙️ National television just told part of our story.

In this second excerpt from our CRTV feature, Dr. Emmanuel Arrey Tambe goes deeper into what makes the Tambe Institute of Buea different, the thinking behind our practical, hands-on approach to health sciences training, and why he built this institution the way he did.

Being featured by Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) is more than visibility. It's validation, from a national platform, of the standard we've set out to build from day one.

We were just featured by the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV)!👏

Dr. Emmanuel Arrey Tambe sat down for an interview to share the story behind the Tambe Institute of Buea, his journey, his vision, and why he believes Cameroon deserves an institution built on real, hands-on training.

This isn't just a milestone for TIB. It's recognition of something we've believed from the start: that quality health sciences education, built by someone who has actually done the work, deserves to be seen and heard.

Before our students set foot in the clinic, they build a solid theoretical foundation through lectures in anatomy, physiology, and pathology. That groundwork matters. It’s what allows them to understand what they’re seeing, not just watch it happen.

Then, when they arrive at the clinic, the process is deliberate. They begin by observing basic procedures like visual acuity testing. Only once they understand the fundamentals do they gradually move into practicing on real patients, building both confidence and competence step by step.

This is what practical training actually looks like when it’s done right. Not rushed. Not thrown at students unprepared. Structured, so that by the time they’re working with real patients, they’re genuinely ready.

"At first, the fee felt like a problem. Then I looked at what I was actually paying for."

One of our students got real about something a lot of prospective students think but don't always say out loud: the cost gave her pause at first.

But then she reframed it. This wasn't just tuition. It was a direct path into Ophthalmology, training under one of Cameroon's most experienced eye specialists, with real clinical exposure from the very beginning.

Her words: "It became cheap for me, honestly. Worth it."

Sometimes the real question isn't "how much does it cost?" It's "what am I actually getting for it?"

“My first internship? I wasn’t expecting to be this involved this early.”

One of our students shares what it was actually like stepping into a real clinical environment for the first time, not months into the programme, not after graduation, but right at the start.

No easing in with observation only. Real cases. Real responsibility. Real learning.

This is what practical training at TIB actually looks like, told by someone who lived it.

One of the most common questions we get is about admission requirements. So we asked a student to break it down clearly.

The requirement is simple: a minimum of 2 GCE Advanced Level subjects (Religious Studies excluded) from a recognised examining body. That’s it.

If you’ve been holding back from reaching out because you weren’t sure you qualified, this clears it up.

One of our students shares what life outside the classroom actually looks like, sports, clubs, outreach programmes, and social trips that make campus feel like a community, not just a school.

Because building a career is important. So is building the people around you who’ll be part of that journey.
