California Sentor and Presidential wannabe, Kamala Harris, has proposed federal legislation creating 10 hour school days, requiring schools to "keep their doors open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no closures except for weekends, federal holidays, and emergencies." Called the Family Friendly School Act, the legislation would start with 500 schools, cost billions of dollars and ensure students are spending more time with government run programs and employees than with their own families.

“I thought Kamala Harris was against mass incarceration?” Questioned Dan Innis, NH Chair, FPUSA. “This is a taxpayer funded, mandated daycare program under the guise of helping families. There is nothing family friendly about requiring children to spend more waking hours with the government than their parents. No wonder Senator Harris pulled her presidential campaign out of New Hampshire before this announcement. Granite Staters would never support handing local control of our education system to the federal government, let alone our parenting rights and time to it.”
