Congratulations to Mrs. Mary, our Lake Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Mary is truly one of a kind. She has an incredible gift for finding laughter with her students, even on the hardest days, and turning challenges into moments of connection. She works tirelessly to be strength-based, seeing each child for who they are and pushing them to reach their fullest potential. From her famous magic spray to the most clever, creative, and fun classroom ideas, she brings joy, patience, and purpose into everything she does. Her classroom is full of love, growth, and a little bit of magic and we are so lucky to have her at Lake! 📚✂️
Congratulations to Mr. Larry, our Support Person of the Year!
Mr. Larry is the heartbeat of our building! He is constantly on the move, running circles around the school to make sure everything is safe, smooth, and just right for our students and staff. The kids absolutely adore him and light up every time they see him walking by. He is always ready to help, always smiling, and always going above and beyond for our school community. Lake simply wouldn’t be the same without him! 🛠️
We are so proud to celebrate both of you, thank you for all that you do for our Lake family! 👏🦦💙

A huge thank you to preschool parent Christian Burnett from The Hearing Connection and our amazing principal Mrs. Toni Lynn for bringing the Hazel’s Truck to our school last week! Every staff member was treated to a delicious cinnamon roll and a hot or iced coffee. It was such a thoughtful and generous way to support our team, and we truly appreciated it! ☕️❤️

Ms. Taryn’s preschoolers turned science into snow much fun! ❄️
Last week they made “snow” during a hands-on science experiment. It started as a powder, then they added water and watched it transform into soft, fluffy, flaky snow right before their eyes! Little scientists were amazed and had a blast exploring and learning together. ☃️✨

We had some very special guest visitors today! The Lafayette and Benton mascots, along with the Grinch and an Elf on the Shelf from Central, stopped by with pom girls and other high school students. They greeted our kiddos as they arrived, led a fun hallway parade, and helped judge our winter door decorating contest. It was such an awesome and festive way to start our day!
A huge thank you to Emily Sumner, Melissa Winn, Tracie Davis, Beth Hernandez, and Chelsey Sollars for coordinating with our team to make this happen, we truly appreciate it! 💚💙❤️

Gingerbread Architects in Action!
Ms. Reina’s class has been hard at work this week creating their very own gingerbread house, and let me tell you, this masterpiece is 100% kid-built and 200% adorable! 😄
Armed with cardboard, white paper, crayons, and the most serious pretend tools you’ve ever seen, these tiny builders colored, designed, hammered (with imaginary nails!), and constructed their holiday home from the ground up.
They planned it, built it, decorated it… and had a blast every step of the way. The pride on their faces? Sweeter than gumdrops! 🍭
We’re so proud of all their hard work, this gingerbread house may not be edible, but it’s definitely magical. 🎄✨

Last week, Christmas magic filled the halls as Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the classrooms at Lake! They popped in to check on the kids, share some holiday cheer, and spread more smiles than a whole box of candy canes. ❤️🎄
