جن دوستوں کو پودے لگانے کا شوق ہے وہ سوہانجنا کا ایک ایک پودا اپنے گھر میں لگائیں
سوہانجنا ہمارا دیسی درخت ہے۔ پورے پاکستان میں اس کے درخت پائے جاتے ہیں۔ کراچی کے اکثر گلی کوچوں اور سڑکوں پر اس کے درخت لگے نظر آتے ہیں۔ انگریزی میں اس کو Moringa کہتے ہیں۔ جدید سائنسی ریسرچ نے یورپ اور امریکہ میں اس درخت کی دھوم مچائی ہوئی ہے۔ ماہرین غذائیات اور فوڈ سائنس کے ماہرین اس کی کرشماتی صفات پر حیران ہیں۔ اس کے پتوں کے ایکسٹریکٹ سے تیار کردہ کیپسول، گولیاں اور فوڈ سپلیمنٹ دھڑا دھڑ بک رہے ہیں۔ جاپان کی ایک معروف دودھ کمپنی عرصہ دراز سے موریناگا Morinaga کے نام سے بچوں کا دودھ بنا رہی ہے جو مورنگا کی غذائی خصوصیات سے بھرپور ہے۔ یہ کم و بیش تین سو قابل علاج اور لا علاج بیماریوں کا علاج ہے لیکن صد افسوس کہ ہمارےیہاں اسے بکریاں کھا رہی ہیں۔ اگر لوگوں کو اس کے فوائد کا پتہ چل جائے تو سوہانجنا کے درختوں پر ایک پتہ باقی نہ رہے

موسم سرما کی سبزیوں میں پھول گوبھی، بند گوبھی، لیٹس، آلو، پیاز، سلاد، مولی ، شلغم، مٹر، گاجر، پالک، سرسوں کا ساگ، میتھی، دھنیا، لہسن اور چقندر شامل ہیں۔زمین نہ ہونے کی صورت میں یہ تمام سبزیاں گملوں میں بھی باآسانی اگائی جا سکتی ہیں۔

درجہ بندی بلحاظ طریقہ کاشت

نباتاتی حصوں سے کاشت ہونے والی سبزیاں
اروی، آلو، لہسن، ہلدی، ادرک اور پودینہ نباتاتی حصوں سے کاشت ہونے والی سبزیاں ہیں۔ ان کی جڑوں کو زمیں میں لگایا جاتا ہے۔

پنیری سے کاشت ہونے والی سبزیاں
پھول گوبھی، بند گوبھی، بروکل، پیاز اور سلاد موسم سرما میں بذریعہ پنیری کاشت کی جاتی ہیں۔ مٹی میں لگانے سے پہلے بیجوں کے ذریعہ ان کی پنیری تیار کی جاتی ہے۔

براہ راست بیجوں سے لگائی جانے والی سبزیاں
مولی، شلغم، گاجر، پالک ، دھنیا، میتھی اور مٹر کے بیج براہ راست لگائے جاتے ہیں۔

Socotra Dragon Tree or Dragon Blood Tree

Dragon Tree native to the Socotra archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It is so called due to the red sap that the trees produce

Kinnow?Orange

The kinnow is a variety of citrus fruit cultivated extensively in Punjab region. It is a hybrid of two citrus cultivars — "King" (Citrus nobilis) x "Willow Leaf" (Citrus deliciosa).

In 1940, Punjab Agriculture College and Research Institute, Faisalabad, Pakistan, introduced the kinnow. It has become an important variety in the Punjab province of Pakistan, occupying a major part of the area under cultivation for fruit crops.

The kinnow fruit is large and orange, with 12 to 25 seeds and a globular shape. It matures in January or February. This "easy peel" citrus has assumed special economic importance and export demand due to its high juice content, special flavour, and as a rich source of vitamin C. The factors which have contributed to the success of this fruit are its beautiful golden-orange colour (a major asset from a marketing viewpoint), its abundant juice, and its excellent aroma and taste. Its trees are highly productive; it is not uncommon to find 1000 fruits per tree.

Food processing includes the selection of good-quality mandarins. The ideal kinnow is firm to slightly soft, smooth-skinned with no deep grooves, and deep orange to almost red. Human hands can better judge and avoid product with soft spots, dull and faded coloring or rough and bumpy skin. Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, Punjab has developed new technologies for obtaining higher yields of better quality fruits under the conditions of Indian Punjab. These fruits can be stored at room temperature conditions or under cold storage conditions.
