I'm so proud of my daughter Lucy. This is her second year competing in the "Chapman Project," An artistic competition centered around the Holocaust. Each year, students have the option of creating a piece honoring either a Holocaust "survivor" or a "rescuer." Last year she honored a survivor. This year she chose a "rescuer." WHAT A POWERFUL STORY! Enjoy.

I know it sounds 100% cliché, but I can’t believe that we are finally here to this day. My daughter, driving… What an awesome day. I’m so proud of how hard she has worked with everything that she does. She does everything 100% and has such and amazingly generous heart.

Congratulations baby fantastic job and working through the long and arduous hours of drivers training. It will pay off.

I know I’m late to the party, but anytime I get to brag on my Lucy I gladly take the opportunity. My daughter Lucy is the everything girl. She’s all you’d want in a daughter with an extra side of chips. She always makes good decisions, and always chooses the path that leads to learning rather than ease.

I love her with all my heart. She is my daughter! Happy daughters day. Go getum baby!

ERIC MARIENTHAL! JUST INSANELY GREAT!

For the past six months I’ve missed my music life. A lot! I’ve tried to embrace that the world is different and tried to stay positive. I’ve also encouraged others to stay grateful. But I have my moments man…It’s not so much the actual “playing of music,” but more so the community that surrounds it. The social time, the breaks, the glimpses of learning and inspiration you get from each other, THAT’S what I miss.

Recently I called Eric to discuss an interesting opportunity I’ve been offered. The conversation reminded me of how valuable the social time is and how much I’ve valued these friendships. Thanks Eric for being awesome and for always inspiring me.

James Morrison.. That guy!! I must share the background on this video. This was taken (I believe) in the month of January the year that James started his academy / school of music in Mount Gambier. Right before we started he said “I hope this goes ok, I haven’t touched my horn since before Christmas because Judi and I have been getting the housing and the campus ready for the students for a month solid. Then this is his performance. WHAT?!?!?! GANGSTER!

I captured this video from the back row some time ago. This moment in the Phat band show was always a high point for me, knowing that Andy was about to demonstrate his mastery. One of the best jazz musicians ever. Just wow! Just wow! Drewbone, you are my hero! Dang!!
