๐ต Music isnโt just for the earsโitโs for the whole body and brain! ๐ต
When your little one claps, taps, or dances to a beat, theyโre doing more than just having fun. These rhythmic activities help develop important motor skills and also play a crucial role in enhancing brain connectivity.
One key element in this process is the development of the corpus callosum, the โhighwayโ that connects the two hemispheres of the brain. Rhythmic patterns, like clapping to a steady beat or tapping along with a song, help strengthen this connection. A well-developed corpus callosum allows for better communication between the two sides of the brain, leading to improved coordination, and even cognitive abilities (faster neural speed = faster learning!).
By engaging in musical activities that involve crossing the midline of the body (like when they clap, dance or swing their arms), children are building strong, integrated brain networks that support their overall development.
So, get involved with your young ones! Dance to music with them and encourage them to tap along with the rhythm; theyโre growing strong and connecting their brainโs hemispheres, one beat at a time!
Thereโs SO much to talk about with rhythm and development, especially by looking at odd time signatures and more complex โworldโ rhythms (which we do in classes) - weโll cover more of this in some upcoming posts!
Embracing the role of music and rhythmic patterns in motor and brain development is key to helping our children move confidently through the world. ๐ถ๐ช

Hi everyone! Miss Sibby here. Iโve been so excited to bring CleverBubs Music into the world!
This is my family - my husband Andy and our boy Finnian. To give some back-story to how CleverBubs Music came about; Finn arrived slightly premature back in 2022, and we embarked on a journey to support his early development through music, whilst researching and referencing the latest Neuro-musical studies and findings. We then spent the next 12-18months developing the music and lessons around this research. The music in the classes I have created alongside my husband Andy (who is a professional composer, producer / musician).
Weโre both university trained singer/musicians that have been lucky enough to spend the last 15-20 years working as full-time musicians/performers/artists. Our gigs have seen us perform around the world (for 9 years we were based in London, UK).
We believe our classes are unique in the way that the music has been created specifically for brain development (whilst referencing the latest studies and findings in neuro-musical research), and presented in a way that is more of a musical performance than a โlearningโ class (we try to make it FUN whilst filling your brains full of all the โhigh informationโ music!). We hope to help lots of young minds develop through the magic of music - or, more accurately, through the science of music!
Would love to see you at a class soon! Weโre currently offering free trial class for all new members, so get in touch and weโll get you booked in ๐

In our baby and toddler music classes, we use a cooperative and encouraging approach to learning music, which has been shown to foster empathy and social connections in children. According to recent research, engaging in rhythmic activities like dance and playing instruments can significantly enhance children's emotional development and cooperative behavior. Music activates brain regions involved in empathy, trust, and cooperation, promoting social bonding and emotional growth. These early experiences are crucial for building a foundation of empathy and social skills that children carry throughout their lives.
Our classes are designed to provide fun and interactive musical activities that support overall cognitive, social, and motor development. By integrating dance and rhythmic play, we create an enriching environment where children can thrive.
๐ถโจ Classes open and bookings can be made via the website (link in bio) for our brand new EAST VICTORIA PARK classes. Let's have FUN learning music whilst fostering your child's early brain development ๐ถโจ

Hi! I'm Miss Sibby.
Together with my husband, we have created CleverBubs Music, baby and toddler music classes with a focus on early brain development.
We're professional musicians, songwriters, and performers, and have spent our lives immersed in music and the creative arts; however, it was the arrival of our own child, born slightly prematurely, that ignited the passion for early childhood education and brain development through music.
Classes are kicking off for Term 3 in Victoria Park, Perth - bookings can be done via website (linked in bio). Looking forward to joining you and your young one as on this exciting musical adventure!
