Officially under construction!

On 1 April 2022, students and staff of Wenli Academy, as well as representatives from construction firms, gathered on the Wenli Hill to witness and perform the commencement ceremony for the construction of our new campus.

This long-awaited event finally came after years of architectural drafts, landscape surveys, and other preliminary work, marking a new and auspicious beginning in Wenli Academy's history.

Towards the realisation of our ideals, the following milestones have been planned:

2022: Commencement of construction works.
2023: Completion of Phase 1, comprising 90,000m2, which shall be able to accommodate 3000 students.
2025: Completion of Phase 2, comprising 60,000m2, which shall include the main library, the Institute of Eastern Studies, and the Institute of Western Studies.
2028: Completion of Phase 3, comprising 50,000m2, which shall include the Chinese Rites and Music Research Centre (Confucian Temple).
2030: Hundreds of Wenli Academy graduates shall step into society, both in China and abroad, and onto the global stage of academia.
2040: Wenli Academy graduates, having accumulated at least 10 years of experience in society, shall begin to shoulder greater responsibilities of our era.

We aspire to train worldclass talents, who are able to confront age-old issues in our contemporary world. Wenli Academy is neither only for the Chinese nor for our times alone, but it has the globe as its end, and its spirit is timeless.

On September 30, 2021, the inaugural meeting of the Wenzhou European and American Alumni Association was held in the Great Hall of the People. Various committees from different cities attended the meeting, including representative of Wenli Academy, Dr. Yang Mei.

After a year of preparation, it is officially established with 97 members in the first European and American Alumni Association in Wenzhou City.

As an educational institution based on China’s excellent traditions, Wenli Academy has been able to send students to study abroad every year to learn the classical culture of the West and India, with hopes of becoming a messenger of cultural exchanges between China, West and India.

Since 2019, students from Wenli Academy have been applying to the Accademia Vivarium Novum (AVN) to study Latin yearly. Fan Ting Hao, a student at Wenli Academy, applied to AVN in the summer of 2021 and was accepted. He left on September 25th for Italy, where he would begin a year of studies at AVN. The following article includes his application to Professor Wang and the teachers.
