I feel us women from 40’s & Up deal with the hippo syndrome 😂
August is my next 30 Days for a clean out of my gut. Since moving back to my hometown with an autoimmune in September of 2021 I have put on 20 pounds. It is hard, in my experience to find that routine where your body is working for you to eliminate toxins and control weight gain. Medicines & Hormones are never in your favor along with stress and anxiety.

Normally a 30Days of careful intake and watching what you consume helps ti reset and reboot your body. I usually Can pull about 12-15 pounds. So, it’s focus time before the holidays kick in 😂

The number of diets out there that limit us and our freedom with food are endless.

AND therapeutic diets absolutely have a time and place for healing- the anti inflammatory diet, the autoimmune immune protocol, FODMAP, Keto etc…

And yet I find that many of us put ourselves in food “boxes” where there are lots of “cants” “wonts” and “should nots” that can cause and trigger emotional angst around food.

Remember the body LOVES VARIETY…so given whatever dietary guidelines you follow remember to eat as broadly as you can.

And if you can’t eat it because of true health issues (celiac) say no.

But if you “can’t “ eat it because of food rules that you made up…reconsider please 😉

Connection and play and love around food is so good for our body and our minds.

The Kraken has just joined our Mythical Creatures Garden 😂

The kraken was said to grapple with ships using its powerful suction cup covered arms, before pulling them into the depths. Failing that, it would swim swift circles around a vessel, creating a massive whirlpool which swallowed ships and everyone aboard.

While many monsters fade away with time, by the 18th century the kraken was still alive and well in the region and made its way into Bishop Erik Pontoppidan’s Natural History of Norway, published in 1752. The book describes the kraken alongside other mythical sea creatures. Pontoppidan described the kraken as “round, flat, and full of arms… the largest and most surprising of all the animal creation,” via Britannica.

Things like exercise, saunas, cold therapy, oxygen deprivation, and fasting.

Then there are the things that increase longevity because it stimulates our vagus nerve (our “rest” state)

Things like:

Meditation
Cold therapy
Grounding
Gratitude journaling
Humming
Singing
Dancing
Laughing
Praying
Hugging
Nature
Animals
Breath work
Silence
Play
Joy
Walking
Acupuncture
Bodywork

And then there are the things that go against the healing process:

Eating ultra processed foods - ANYTHING in a bag, box or with a barcode
Poor sleep
Blood sugar imbalance
Chronic stress
Chronic busyness
Chronic distraction
Living a sedentary lifestyle
Unresolved trauma
Childhood trauma
Addictions
Unhealthy relationships
Hating your job
Not loving where you live
Mold exposure
Environmental toxins
Too much caffeine (I’m a huge fan of coffee just not allllll day long 🤪)
Heavy metal toxicity
People pleasing
Not having healthy boundaries (learn that NO is a complete sentence 💪🏻)

Just to touch on a few .

So.

I’d love us all today to pick one to BEGIN to let go of (mine is saying NO…and simultaneously saying YES to me)

And pick one to begin to integrate (mine is daily prayer)
