I don't think the goal of education is to raise adults who know everything. I think it's to help children become people who know how to keep learning. And want to.

When I look at the adults I admire most, what stands out isn't how much they know, it's that they're still curious. They ask thoughtful questions, they seek out experts, they read widely, they compare ideas, they change their minds when the evidence changes, they know how to keep learning.

That's the kind of learning I'm trying to nurture. And through unschooling, I have kids who still love to learn. This gives me confidence that they will be able to learn anything they need in the future.

Capable adults aren't the ones with all the answers. They're the ones who know how to find them.

--------
We're really digging into practising the skills that capable adults need in 'Inspiration Is Here' right now. This week we're exploring curiosity, discernment, contribution, civic awareness, observation, and the habit of collecting ideas.

If you'd like practical invitations that help children grow into capable, curious adults, I'd love you to join us inside Inspiration Is Here. Comment INSPIRE and I'll send you the details β™₯

Important Ofsted Update for Early Years Settings

Ofsted has shared more information about when Early Years settings can expect to be inspected.

πŸ”Ή All settings on the Early Years Register will be inspected at least once by March 2030.

πŸ”Ή If you were inspected during the previous 6-year window, you’ll move onto the new 4-year inspection window following your next routine inspection. Ofsted may still visit sooner if there are concerns about a setting.

πŸ”Ή If your setting has not yet been inspected, the timing of your first inspection depends on when you registered:

β€’ Registered on or after 1 April 2026: your first inspection will usually take place within 18 months.

β€’ Registered before 1 April 2026: your first inspection will usually take place within 30 months.

Definitely worth knowing if you’re an Early Years provider wondering when that Ofsted call might come! πŸ‘€
