Dr. Shaikha Salem AlShehhi Appointed as a Member of the International Experts Council at the American Academic Board for Training and Education in the Field of Judicial Administration and Notarial Services

The American Academic Board for Training and Education has announced the appointment of Dr. Shaikha Salem AlShehhi as a member of the International Experts Council of the Board, in recognition of her distinguished professional career and her contributions in the fields of law, judicial administration, and notarial services.

Dr. Shaikha Salem AlShehhi is considered one of the prominent legal and administrative professionals in the United Arab Emirates, with more than twenty-one years of professional experience in judicial and notarial work.

Dr. Shaikha also holds advanced academic qualifications, including a PhD in Philosophy of Management, in addition to her studies in law, economics, and Islamic Sharia, enabling her to combine legal expertise with administrative and strategic perspectives in developing institutional work environments.

Throughout her professional career, she has contributed to supporting and developing the judicial and notarial work system, in addition to her academic and research participation in the fields of management and institutional development, as well as obtaining several specialized professional certificates in leadership, legal administration, and modern technologies.

Her appointment comes as part of the American Academic Board for Training and Education’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with distinguished Arab legal and administrative professionals and to support the exchange of professional knowledge and expertise, contributing to the development of education and training systems and the enhancement of institutional capacities at both regional and international levels.

A Leading Authority in Public International Law and State Boundaries at a High-Level Academic Meeting in Nairobi
As part of academic engagements hosted in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, Dr. Osama Ahmed Elmustafa, Member of the Board of Directors of US Meta Arees International University, participated in a high-level scholarly meeting that brought together distinguished academics from University of Nairobi and several universities across Africa. The meeting was attended by Professor Muaz Ahmed Tango, a prominent scholar of public international law and a recognized authority in international boundary law and dispute resolution.
The meeting was convened to strengthen cross-border academic partnerships and explore avenues for collaboration in international law, governance, and strategic studies. Professor Tango’s presence added significant intellectual value, reflecting his standing as a leading academic authority and a practitioner with deep institutional experience within state structures.
Professor Tango holds a Ph.D. in International Law from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Throughout his career, he has dedicated his work to issues of national sovereignty and boundary delimitation, developing institutional and strategic frameworks for managing and resolving boundary disputes in accordance with international law and globally recognized standards. He previously served as Chairman of the National Borders Commission, where he led comprehensive institutional restructuring efforts and introduced professional methodologies to address sensitive boundary matters with legal rigor and strategic foresight.
He has also held senior leadership positions within the Ministry of Justice, contributing to the development of legal frameworks governing treaties and international obligations. In addition, Professor Tango is a distinguished expert in international human rights law, having contributed to numerous reports submitted to regional and international mechanisms, thereby strengthening institutional legal engagement at both regional and global levels. He is the author of several scholarly publications and the founder and Editor-in-Chief of a specialized academic journal in human rights.
During the meeting, Professor Tango expressed his honor and enthusiasm in joining the University’s Board of Trustees, emphasizing the importance of building independent academic institutions capable of preparing legal and intellectual leaders equipped to address the complex challenges of modern statehood—particularly in matters of sovereignty, boundary delimitation, and international arbitration.

In a move that reflects the growing trend towards building cross-border educational partnerships and enhancing academic integration between Meta Arees American International University and international and African institutions, Dr. Osama Ahmed El-Mustafa, a member of the Board of Directors of Meta Arees International University of the United States, paid an official visit to the Pan African University campus in Nairobi, Kenya, at the kind invitation of Professor PLO Lumumba, one of the most prominent academic and intellectual figures on the African continent, and in an organizational partnership with The PLO Lumumba Foundation.

This visit comes in the context of a strategic vision that aims to build bridges of scientific and knowledge cooperation between international educational institutions and African universities, and activate the role of higher education as a tool for development, empowerment and leadership building, in a way that consolidates an academic presence across continents.

The meeting was characterized by a deep scientific nature and rich discussions that addressed the future of higher education in Africa, and ways to develop academic models in line with the rapid global transformations, especially in the fields of technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
The dialogue focused on a number of key themes, most notably expanding international education opportunities for African students across Meta Arees University's faculties, building joint training and research programs, developing young leaders through executive education, and linking universities to the continent's economic and social development needs.

The two sides stressed the importance of moving from the stage of exchange of visits to the stage of effective partnerships with direct impact, which translate into tangible programs, projects and educational paths that bring about real change on the ground.

He pointed out that his office in Nairobi will be an academic window and a strategic communication center for Meta Arees University and to support African students, researchers and institutions wishing to benefit from the university's international programs, in a way that contributes to enhancing the African presence in the global educational system.

He also sent an official letter to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Monkez Akkad, and to the university administration, expressing his pride in this cooperation, describing the partnership as "a model of integration between international expertise and African need", and stressing his full commitment to transforming this cooperation into realistic projects with a sustainable impact.

As part of the visit, it was announced that US Meta Arees International University has joined The PLO Lumumba Foundation's network and initiatives, opening new horizons for cooperation in the fields of leadership training, scientific research, and the implementation of joint programs to serve African youth and leaders.

US Meta Arees International University as a Strategic Partner at the GCC Forum for Inspiring Teachers in Dubai

Dr. Monkez Al-Akkad, President of US Meta Arees International University, delivered the University’s keynote address in its capacity as a strategic partner alongside the organizing entities, Ghabsha Foundation and Basmah Institute for Training and Education, during the first edition of the GCC Forum for Inspiring Teachers, held in Dubai.

The forum was organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Dr. Aisha bint Saeed Al Sharqi, chaired by Dr. Khaled Al-Dhanhani, and attended by prominent Emirati, Gulf, and Arab educational leaders and officials.

In his speech, Dr. Monkez emphasized education as the most powerful driver of transformation in humanity, highlighting that teachers shape and build the most valuable element in existence—the human being—who will, in the future, have access to diverse opportunities, positions, and leadership roles.

He explained that since its establishment, US Meta Arees International University has adopted Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guiding educational framework to connect learning with understanding, application, and innovation. The University has also embraced Montessori methodologies, which promote self-directed learning, respect individual differences among students, and create a dynamic educational environment that nurtures talented and high-achieving learners. This approach is supported through the University’s cooperation and membership with the Montessori Curriculum Office in Washington, operating under U.S. Department of Education family policy compliance standards.

والذي أقيم برعاية الشيخة الدكتورة عائشة بنت سعيد الشرقي ورئاسة الدكتور خالد الظنحاني وحضور شخصيات قيادية تربوية وتعليمية إماراتية وخليجية وعربية.
وقد تحدث الدكتور منقذ في كلمته التعليم بوصفه المحرك الأهم والأعظم للتغيير في البشرية، وبوصف المعلم يبني ويصنع أهم شيء في الوجود وهو " الإنسان" الذي سيكون في المستقبل مفتوحاً على كل المواقع والمناصب والمستويات.
وأوضح أن جامعة ميتا أريس الأمريكية الدولية منذ نشأتها اعتمدت في سياساتها هرم بلوم في التعليم لربط التعلم بالفهم والتطبيق والريادة، كما تبنت مناهج المنتسوري التي تعزز التعلم الذاتي وتراعي الفروقات الفردية بين الطلاب وتشكل البيئة التعليمية الخلاقة لتخريج المتميزين والموهوبين وذوي القدرات، وذلك عبر تعاونها وعضويتها في مكتب مناهج المنتسوري بواشنطن الذي يخضع للامتثال لسياسات الأسرة في وزرارة التعليم الأمريكية.

وقد جرى خلال الملتقى إقامة جلسات حوارية وورشات فكرية، وعرض تجارب تربوية وتعليمية ملهمة وتكريم شخصية العام وعدد من المعلمين الملهمين في شتى التخصصات والدول. وختم الملتقى بالخروج بتوصيات مهمة في مجال سياسات التعليم ومحركاته ومعاييره التقنية والأخلاقية والإبداعية.

Dr. Afra bint Hasher Al Maktoum Presents a Working Paper at the 3rd Global Conference on Rural Health in Hafar Al-Batin, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Dr. Afra bint Hasher Al Maktoum, Member of the Board of Trustees of US Meta Arees International University and Regional President of the American Academic Board for Training and Education, presented a working paper on mental health at the Third Global Conference on Rural Health held in Hafar Al-Batin, Saudi Arabia. Her participation took place during the fifth session of the conference, which was broadly titled: Solutions – Training, Innovation, and Technology (REEFATHON).

The working paper addressed several key themes, emphasizing that women’s health is a comprehensive societal and developmental issue that affects family stability, quality of life, and the future of sustainable development across the Gulf region. Dr. Afra called for the integration of health education for girls across all stages of education, with a particular focus on adolescence, delivered through scientifically sound approaches that preserve privacy and promote psychological well-being. She stressed that health education represents a long-term investment in sustainable development due to its positive impact on family stability.

Additionally, Dr. Afra highlighted the importance of establishing clear frameworks for the use of digital health as a supportive tool for health awareness rather than a substitute for it. She noted that the effectiveness of health technologies and platforms should be measured by their ability to enhance health awareness, respect cultural privacy, and ensure accessibility.

She further emphasized the need to redefine health innovation—including technological initiatives and reefathons—so that it remains centered on people and their real needs.

Dr. Afra concluded by underscoring the necessity of adopting an integrated Gulf vision for women’s health that begins at the school level, is supported by the family, reinforced by responsible media, and leverages technology in alignment with cultural values and privacy. She also called for strengthened partnerships among the health, education, media, and technology sectors to ensure coordinated efforts and avoid fragmented responsibility for women’s health, affirming that women’s health is a collective responsibility requiring long-term policies and sustainable programs that extend beyond seasonal campaigns.

شاركت الدكتورة عفراء بنت حشر آل مكتوم، عضو مجلس أمناء جامعة ميتا أريس الأمريكية الدولية، الرئيس الإقليمي للبورد الأكاديمي الأمريكي للتدريب والتعليم بورقة عمل حول الصحة النفسية في المؤتمر العالمي الثالث للصحة الريفية في حفر الباطن بالمملكة العربية السعودية، في الجلسة الخامسة من جلسات المؤتمر التي حملت عنواناً عريضاً: الحلول- التدريب، الابتكار، والتقنية (الريفيثون REEFATHON )

وقد تضمنت ورقة العمل مجموعة من المحاور المهمة التي أكدت على أن صحة المرأة قضية مجتمعية وتنموية شاملة تمس استقرار الأسرة وجودة الحياة ومستقبل التنمية المستدامة في دول الخليج.
ودعت إلى إدماج التعليم الصحي للفتيات في مختلف المراحل التعليمية مع التركيز على مرحلة المراهقة بأسلوب علمي يحفظ الخصوصية ويعزز الطمأنينة النفسية. واعتبرت أنَّ التعليم الصحي هو استثمارٌ طويل الأمد في التنمية المستدامة لما له من أثر في تعزيز الاستقرار الأسري.
من جانب آخر، بينت الدكتورة عفراء أهمية وضع أطر واضحة لتوظيف الصحة الرقمية بوصفها أداة داعمة للتوعية الصحية لا بديلاً عنها مع التأكيد على أن تقييم التقنيات والمنصات الصحية يقاس بمدى تعزيزها للوعي الصحي واحترام الخصوصية الثقافية وسهولة الوصول للخدمة.
وشدّدت على إعادة تعريف الابتكار الصحي بما في ذلك المبادرات التقنية والريفثونات ليكون محوره الإنسان واحتياجاته الواقعية.
وختمت بالتحدث عن ضرورة تبني رؤية خليجية متكاملة لصحة المرأة تنطلق من المدرسة وتدعمها الأسرة ويعززها الإعلام المسؤول وتستثمر التقنية بوعي منسجم مع القيم والخصوصية الثقافية، مع تعزيز الشراكة بين القطاعات الصحية والتعليمية والإعلامية والتقنية لضمان تكامل الجهود وعدم تجزئة مسؤولية صحة المرأة، فصحة المرأة مسؤولية جماعية تتطلب سياسات طويلة الأمد وبرامج مستدامة تتجاوز الحملات الموسمية.
