WVC Academic Success Center Helping students succeed through: Tutoring, Testing and Disability Services. WVC peer tutors are available for most classes.

Tutoring
If students find themselves struggling with classes and need help, the LSC offers FREE tutoring. The Online Writing Lab (O.W.L) is also available through the student's Entrada account. This is a convenient, online service that provides feedback on academic essays. Testing Services
Student's entering WVC seeking a degree or a certificate are required to take the ACCOPLACER placement test

if they do NOT have an ACT or SAT score. This is not a test that student's pass or fail the placement test is simply there to evaluate skill levels in Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Math to place students in courses designed to help them succeed. Student's are also allowed to take tests in the LSC center if their IEP allows it, or if they miss a test in class. All tests can be taken by calling the LSC for an appointment. Developmental Classes
Remedial and preparatory courses are designed to bring basic skills in Math, English and Reading to a level generally expected of upon entering college. Placement scores will determine if a student needs such classes. Disability/IEP Services
Student's with physical, emotional or learning disabilities are encouraged to seek support in the LSC. Pearson Vue Testing
WVC is proud to be a certified Pearson Vue Testing Center. Testers have access to thousands of tests from companies all over the world including the 2014 GED exam. GED Classes
If a student does not have a high school diploma or GED, FREE eight -week classes are offered twice during Fall and Spring Semesters and once during Summer Semester in order to help you pass your GED exams.
