A recent Mooresville High School graduate, Manny applied for and received tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships, was accepted to Elizabeth City State University, and has already received his pilot’s license!

We had a spectacular gathering of all three of our Crosby Scholars teams today, including Crosby Scholars (Forsyth) Crosby Scholars Rowan and Crosby Scholars Iredell County. Teams took time to collaborate, share ideas, and identify our superpowers - all in the service of helping our students find THEIR superpowers!

Get ready for for TEST PREP CLUB! This new Crosby Scholars' offering will help make ACT/SAT testing make sense! The club meets virtually on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, and our first meeting is Sept. 8. It's free, open to all high school students, and will feature Quest College Prep and Tutoring's professional insight.

Maybe you spotted the Crosby ducks that were hanging out for the Mooresville Graded School District Community Info Night & Picnic In the Park. We go where the students (and parents) are to promote Crosby Scholars across the community!

NASA Student Launch is a NASA-conducted engineering design challenge to provide resources and experiences for students and faculty. The activity is built around a NASA mission, not textbook knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to engage with NASA Subject Matter Experts and personnel from across the aerospace industry. Middle/high school and college-level student teams design, build, test, and launch a high-powered rocket for the NASA Student Launch challenge.

CROSBY ON THE MOVE! Members of our Iredell County Advising Team spent Tuesday at Elon University, meeting with admissions counselors from Elon, Queens University of Charlotte, NC State University, UNC Charlotte and North Carolina A&T State University. The team gained insight into what admissions decisions look like from the college perspective and received campus updates from each institution.

That's more information for our staff to pass on to Crosby Scholars students in Iredell County. Well done, team!
