Vaisakhi isn’t just a harvest festival, it’s also the birth of the Khalsa 🌾⚔️

Back in 1699, at Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Ji called Sikhs to join him at Anandpur Sahib 🙏

This was a difficult time, with rising oppression under Mughal rule, especially during Aurangzeb. Guru Gobind Singh’s father, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, had been martyred for standing up for religious freedom 💔

When the sangat gathered, Guru Ji asked for a volunteer, someone willing to give their head for their faith 😳

One man stepped forward and was taken inside a tent. Guru Ji returned with a sword covered in blood. He asked again, and this continued five times. Each time, a new volunteer stepped forward 🔥

By the end, the crowd was stunned. Then Guru Ji emerged with all five men alive, dressed in a new identity, the Panj Pyare 🙌

They came from different parts of India, Punjab, Karnataka, Odisha, and Gujarat, showing that the Khalsa was beyond region, caste, or background 🌍

This is how the Khalsa was born, the idea of the Saint-Soldier ⚔️🕊️
Strong enough to fight injustice, yet grounded in humility and faith.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji revered by the Sikhs as "Srisht-di-Chadar" (Protector of humanity), was the ninth Sikh Guru .
A poet, a thinker, and a warrior, Guru Teg Bahadur carried forward the light of sanctity and divinity of Guru Nanak Dev ji and the subsequent Sikh Gurus. His spiritual writings, detailing varied themes such as the nature of God, human attachments, body, mind, sorrow, dignity, service, death, and deliverance, are registered in the form of poetic hymns in the sacred scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. To spread the message of Sikhism, the Guru travelled extensively through the Indian subcontinent, setting up several new preaching centers. He founded the town of Chak-Nanki in the Punjab, later enlarged by the tenth Nanak Guru Gobind Singh ji into the city of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
