We are on the Toxic Tour with Bongani and he is showing us where a residence of the University of Natal, Durban (UKZN now) was. It was affected by the emissions of Exxon Mobile. The levels of asthma in this area was very high, as were levels of cancers. Some reforms did take place on Exxon's exit.

The Mozambique Excursion is well under way! Students spent time at the Center for African Studies at the Eduardo Mondlane University where they heard the story of South African apartheid activist, Ruth First, who was killed by a letter bomb in 1982. Dr Yussuf Adam addressed the students and related his own experiences with the struggle icon.
The pillars are outside of the Matola Raid Museum and represent all the countries that helped South Africa in the struggle against apartheid.
