Aasia smiles when she discloses that she has received many awards for her outstanding work. She received the award for best new product Menswear, FAF 1996 by Export Promotion Bureau. She was nominated for best menswear designer in Lux Style Awards 2003. Aasia received the Best Designer Men’s Casual Wear at the International Fashion Festival in 2006. Many of the local celebrities like Reema, Moammer Rana, Shan, Resham, Fariha Pervez, Zara Sheikh and many others are Aasia’s long time customers, She has also designed entire wardrobes for films like Mujhe chand chaiye, Koii tujh sa kahan and Love main Ghum. The most outstanding thing about her designs is that she does bespoke, made to measure with an excellent fitting. Aasia has attended numerous courses at the London Centre for Fashion Studies related to practical skills in fashion design, pattern cutting, Garment technology and grading and manufacturing techniques. This has ensured that she is much more than just a woman entrepreneur, as she has received proper training for her passion. Aasia enjoys changing a person’s complete look by suggesting styles, cuts, colors and designs that would suit the customer. Her personal touch is felt by the customer and helps her in retaining the clients. She has clients who have been her customers for more than 25 years. Aasia says they just call to ask for five or six outfits and leave everything to her. Aasia makes the cutting pattern for each customer herself, so she is not dependent on her karigars. She has trained many people throughout her career. Aasia has suffered losses when her designs have been copied or her trained karigar pulled away by competitors on higher salary or benefits. But Aasia remains positive about this because she knows she is not dependent on her workers and is skillful enough to train more in no time.. Lahore
