Fort Collins Youth Jazz Project

Our summer workshop is starting up soon! Here are the details:

All groups will meet at the below times on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting June 6 and finishing with a concert on June 23th. We meet at Liberty Common High School, 2745 Minnesota Drive, Ft. Collins

Beginning Group- 3:00-4:00
Intermediate Group- 4:00-5:00
Advanced Group- 5:00-6:00

All instruments and experience levels are welcome. Students will work on improvisation and small music ensemble dynamics in a casual and fun atmosphere. We will finish up with a performance on June 23rd at a TBD venue in Fort Collins. Past performances have taken place at the Lyric, Avogadro's Number, Old Town Square and others.

Hey young jazzers!

We’re starting up our 2019 summer workshop this Tuesday, June 11th! Here is the schedule:

Advanced Improv 2 at 4:00
Advanced Improv 1 at 5:00
Beginning Improv at 6:00

Classes meet at Liberty Common High School (2745 Minnesota Drive)

Our performance is at the Lyric Cinema Cafe at noon on Thursday, June 26th

The FCYJP is now meeting on Sunday afternoons at Liberty Common High School. We have four jazz combos meeting at 3:30, 4:15, 5:00 and 6:00 with students from grade 7 to 12 and all ability levels. Our spring gig will be on the afternoon of May 7th (location TBD). If you are interested or know a young musician who is interested in participating, email Dave at [email protected]

Our Summer Jazz workshop will begin on June 7th. This class will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through June 23rd. Classes will be divided by experience/ ability and will meet in the afternoons at Liberty Common High School (2745 Minnesota Drive). All abilities and instruments are welcome! Our fall session will begin on November 1st (Sunday). Combos will meet at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00....for ages 12 to 21. ALL instruments are welcome! Come and learn to play the music of Monk, Bird, Dizzy, Satchmo, Prez, Miles, Newk, Dex, Chick and all the other great jazz cats!
