On August 7, our Master of Industrial Engineering students visited two leading DOST facilities — the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen) and the Advanced Mechatronics, Robotics, and Industrial Automation Laboratory (AMERIAL).
At AMCen, they explored world-class 3D printing technologies for plastics, ceramics, metals, and composites, while AMERIAL showcased Industry 4.0 tools like collaborative robots, smart factory systems, and automation training kits.
Both centers play a vital role in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) — the backbone of our economy — by giving them access to advanced manufacturing tools, technical expertise, and innovation hubs.
The visit also introduced the CUATRO Project (Connected and Unified Autonomous Technologies with Automation and Robotics), which aims to build a national Smart Manufacturing Hub and bring cutting-edge technologies such as robotics, IoT, big data, and AR to MSMEs across the country.
More than just a tour, this was an immersion into the future of Philippine industry — inspiring our students to turn knowledge into real-world impact.
