Bruce-Wayne apparently has a hard time learning his lesson.

This is not his first time getting stuck.

Silly goat.

Teamwork and Community Support!!

A big thank you to Chris Champhuis for taking the time today to flip our compost pile and pack it down a bit.

Our compost pile is made from all the hay, straw, and other "goat waste" and makes excellent fertilizer. Digging the good stuff from the bottom of the pile was not a fun job, so having Chris flip the pile with his tractor makes it more accessible so we can more easily fertilize the school garden.

Thanks so much!

Goat cheese part 1!

Livestock leaders yesterday and today sampled store-bought goat cheese and milk. The verdict was that the cheese was super sour but the milk tasted really good and also kind of the same as cows milk.

We then made some soft cheese out of both cow and goat milk. Today the 3/4/5 class got to try it out! Congrats to the brave souls willing to taste something new. I don't think anyone was over the moon in love with it but not everyone thought it wasnt for them.

Plans are in the works to make some yogurt and eventually try out hand at goat-milk cheddar cheese!

It has finally happened! One of the main objectives of our initial agriculture project was to milk goats... and today - we attempted to do just that. It is still a work in process, we have to make a few adjustments to some of our equipment and Peanut needs to get used to the idea a bit more - but we are headed in the right direction.

The 3 Amigos got some leash training done today. They are still not highly motivated by snacks... so it is a work in progress but each time they get a little more organized.

Today our Livestock Leaders added a "busy board" to the barnyard as well as a teeter-toter...
