Mangala Lodge (吉祥轩)celebrated the Sangha Day this year on the 3rd of November 2018

We are honored to have the presence of Bhante Nyanaramsi on this auspicious Sangha Day at Mangala Lodge. Observing the Sangha Day reminded us that Sangha is one of the three jewels of the Buddha Sasana who is committed in preserving and propagating the Dhamma.

In the Dhamma talk, Bhante Nyanaramsi explained the 3 types of Vihara (Digha Nikaya),
a) Dibba Vihara - Divine way of living by Absorption concentration (Jhana)
b) Braham Vihara – Sublime way of living by the practice of Metta, Karuna, Mudita and Upekkha
c) Ariya Vihara – Fruition Absorption by attaining any of the 4 stages of Enlightenment.
Another Vihara namely Iriyapatha Vihara - The way of living with awareness in the four postures ( Going/walking, Standing, Sitting and Lying down) was mentioned in the Dhamma book “Radiating Loving Kindness”, written by Thabyekan Sayadaw.

Bhante Nyanaramsi also briefly expounded on the Dhamma essence, the Four Noble Truth and stressed the importance of developing the Noble Eightfold Path by practicing mindfulness meditation as this is the path leading to the cessation of all sufferings. Nevertheless, one should also perform other meritorious deeds which become the supportive conditions for one's mental cultivation.

On this day, devotees have the opportunity to perform various meritorious actions :- Offering lunch Dana and allowable requisites to the Sangha, participating in Puja and Pali Chanting, timely listening and discussion of Dhamma, practicing gratitude, respect and humility and sharing and transferring of merits.

"To have performed and accumulated meritorious actions in the past, this is one of the highest blessings" (Mangala Sutta).

It is also a joyful occasion to rekindle fellowship whereby kalyanamittas from different places get together in harmony and unity and to support each other in our spiritual cultivation.

Our sincere gratitude to all kalyanamittas for their meritorious efforts and selfless contributions to Mangala Lodge.

Sadhu Anumodana 🙏🙏🙏

27th and 28th May 2018, Kalyanamittas and yogis from KL and Ipoh, led by Sis Wong, an experienced meditation practioner visited ML to celebrate a meaningful Wesak session with us. In reverence of this happy occasion, we made offerrings of lights and flowers, chanting Parittas followed by meditaion practice.

We concluded the visit with a heart-warming Dhamma sharing session whereby yogis shared how their practice of Dhamma and meditations have guided them to face their various daily life challenges with loving kindness, compassion and wisdom. We are blessed with good kalyanamittas (spiritual friends) who inspire, encourage and support each other in practicing the Buddha's teachings.
