Richard's 30+ years in the financial industry and his mentors (including , and ) taught him how to build the machine and therefore the person to take the machine apart is the person who learned how to put it together.

Mentored by a billionaire, Richard's career came to a stop in 2003 when assets at the company he was part owner in exploded from $1 billion to $12 billion and Richard realized one thing, that professional advisors were violating the basic terms of a prospectus which states past performance is no indicator of future results. The intent of investing is to buy low and sell high, but the reality for the majority is that they buy high to sell low. He chose to leave the business and cash out to spend time with his family, see his kids grow up and be more a part of their lives.

Five years later, ready to return to the business, on Saturday, October 18th, 2008, as the world was reeling with the news of the "global financial crisis," Richard was sitting comfortably at his dining room table reading the Globe & Mail and drinking espresso. He read the headline, "Wanted: A new financial order" and it caught his attention - the head of the IMF "declared the world financial system was 'on the brink of systematic meltdown'," while Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy agreed that "nothing would be truly fixed, they believed, until there was a new world financial system" and Gordon Brown and Merkel agreed that it was "beyond the scope or powers of any national government... would have to involve the whole world, and would require rewriting the rulebook of global capitalism."

Richard read words in this article and he was awakened to the fact that his life had a different purpose, that he was going to write the book on a realistic alternative to capitalism. What makes his book different than any other book on capitalism is that his suggestion for the alternative has absolutely no relationship with capitalism itself in any way whatsoever. He intends to prove to the readers of his book that the alternative he shares is simplistic and easy to manage. His alternative is a world and a system without financial excuses for doing the right thing, which solves the problems of human equality, financial inequality, converting from an economy into an ecology and sustainability for the benefit of all humans. It would create a solution that solves all of the problems that we struggle with each and every day. Please join him for a wild yet realistic ride into the new future!

1930 hours on 13th March - in a cool convo with to discuss his book .The title of the book refers to Pak army’s Chaffee tanks of American make deployed in East Pakistan. This is the first book to focus on the operations of Indian Army’s three armoured regiments deployed in the Eastern sector during that war, beginning with leading the advance of Indian Army into East Pakistan. These regiments were 45 Cavalry (Cav) and 69 Armoured Regiment (AR), equipped with amphibious PT-76 and 63 Cav, equipped with T-55 tanks- both manufactured and sold to India at political prices by the former USSR. based on the book produced by and will release in Cinemas worldwide on December 9 2022.

In 1971, India waged a momentous war against Pakistan. But before all-out war, an even more significant tank battle was fought on 21 November 1971 by the C Squadron 45 Cavalry, which demolished the Pakistani General A.A.K. Niazi's plans of victory and set the stage for the utter routing of the Pakistani Army. Equipped with the amphibious PT-76 tanks, the Indian Army's C Squadron 45 Cavalry was unleashed to swim across the River Kabodak, near the Boyra salient (now in Bangladesh), to counter the threat from East Pakistan. On 21 November 1971, the two warring armies clashed in a tank versus tank battle at Garibpur. In one fell swoop, Pakistan's 3 (Independent) Armoured Squadron, consisting of fourteen American M-24 Chaffee tanks, was completely destroyed and two of its infantry battalions were badly mauled. This was followed by the shooting down of three Sabre F-86 jets for the loss of two PT-76 tanks on the Indian side. And thus, the biggest attack planned by General A.A.K. to teach the Indians and the a lesson had gone up in smoke. This battle was a victory and a decisive one at that. It was a trumpet call to the rest of the world of India's intent to stand up for human liberty and dignity in this war of liberation.

Brigadier Mehta was commissioned into 45 Cavalry on 15 Jun 1966. He comes from a illustrious military family which during 1971 war with Pakistan set an example of patriotism with 'four brothers on the frontier and one in the rear to take care of our widowed mother'.

After deputation with Research and Analysis Wing of Cabinet Secretariat he was recalled by General AS Vaidya in 1984 to raise 13 Armoured Regiment which participated in Ex- Brasstacks with distinction in 1987. After command of an armoured brigade he took premature retirement in 1998 to join Government of Gujarat. He organized the first entrepreneurship course for retiring defence personnel at EDI Ahmedabad, the forerunner of similar courses now run by IIM across the country. He then spent the next 18 years in higher education as Vice Chancellor of University.

Balram married Jayshree, daughter of Major General and Mrs Ghanshyam Singh Gohel of Bhavnagar in 1977.

1900 hours on 13th February 2022 ~ ~ A conversation with that is the NEED OF THE HOUR, in these times of hate mongering and extreme polarisation.

Nehal Ahmed’s book is a student participant’s passionate account of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The university resistance led by and the great sit-in together created an inspiring moment in the fight against state-sponsored majoritarianism. It’s through first-hand accounts that historic moments of resistance become the stuff of history. On 15 December 2019, the police unleashed massive violence against the students of one of India’s premier universities, Jamia Millia Islamia, in New Delhi, for protesting against laws that discriminated against Indian Muslims. This attack led to one of independent India’s most striking and creative peaceful protests, with its epicentre in Shaheen Bagh. This book is an eyewitness account of the students’ protest, the ensuing state violence against them, and the citizens’ movement against the discriminatory laws. It is moving and raw, a snapshot of a moment in history, a courageous act of bearing witness.

Historian says "Nehal’s brave and moving narrative is both a memorial to that struggle and a report on the state of this nation."
