Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department Achievements

With gratitude to Allah, it was announced that Ahmed Elsawi, the assistant lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, secured second place for his research participation as a graduate student, in the "Sixth Youth Research Forum 2024." This forum was organized by the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science in collaboration with Qatar University, and his work stood out among 430 research papers and posters submitted from over 22 countries.

We wish him and all researchers in the department and the faculty continued success and excellence.

بحمد الله تم إعلان فوز م.م/احمد الصاوي، المدرس المساعد بقسم الكيمياء الصيدلية، بالمركز الثاني عن مشاركته البحثية كطالب دراسات عليا بكلية الصيدلة جامعة كفرالشيخ في "المنتدى البحثي السادس للشباب" والمنظم من قِبل اللجنة الوطنية القطرية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم بالتعاون مع جامعة قطر، من بين 430 بحثا وملصقا بحثيا تم اعتماده من القائمين على المنتدى من اكثر من 22 دولة.

We are thrilled to congratulate Prof. Dr. Tamer M. Ibrahim Abdelrehim on his recent appointment as associate editor-in-chief for the Drug Design, Development, and Therapy journal!

By the grace and guidance of Allah, Assoc. Prof. Tamer M. Ibrahim, the former head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kafrelsheikh University, has been appointed as an associate editor for the international scientific journal "Drug Design, Development and Therapy," which boasts an impact factor of 4.7. This is a prominent achievement, as this prestigious journal is ranked among the top-tier journals (Q1) in the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacology.

Prof. Tamer has an impressive academic background, having graduated from Alexandria University and earned his Master's from the German University in Cairo. He completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

His research focuses on fighting infectious diseases and cancer through innovative approaches like Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) and Structural Bioinformatics.

يسعدنا أن نهنئ الأستاذ الدكتور تامر محمد إبراهيم على تعيينه مؤخرًا في منصب نائب رئيس التحرير لمجلة "Design, Developmen, and Therapy"!

بفضل من الله وتوفيقه، تم تعيين أ.م.د/ تامر محمد إبراهيم، الأستاذ المساعد ورئيس قسم الكيمياء الصيدلية السابق بكلية الصيدلة جامعة كفرالشيخ، في منصب نائب رئيس التحرير للمجلة العلمية الدولية "Design, Developmen, and Therapy"، ذات معامل التأثير 4.7. ويعد هذا إنجازًا بارزًا، حيث تصنف هذه المجلة المرموقة ضمن مجلات الصف الأول (Q1) في مجالات الكيمياء الصيدلية وعلم الأدوية.

يتمتع الأستاذ الدكتور تامر بخلفية أكاديمية متميزة، حيث تخرج من جامعة الإسكندرية وحصل على درجة الماجستير من الجامعة الألمانية في القاهرة. وأكمل درجة الدكتوراه في العلوم الصيدلانية من جامعة إبرهارد كارلز في توبنغن.

يركز بحثه على مكافحة الأمراض المعدية والسرطان من خلال نهج مبتكرة مثل تصميم الأدوية بمساعدة الحاسوب (CADD) والمعلوماتية الحيوية الهيكلية.

With the help and guidance of Allah, the First Scientific Conference of the Department was held on the tenth of Ramadan 1445 AH, corresponding to March 20, 2024. The conference witnessed the participation of fourth-year students who delivered outstanding presentations, showcasing recently FDA-approved drugs in a remarkable competitive framework. The team that secured first place was awarded a financial reward of 1000 L.E., in addition to all participating students receiving certificates of appreciation.

Moreover, two students delivered an outstanding presentation summarizing research papers that were recently published by the Department in two Q1 journals in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. The quality of their work was exceptional, and as a result, they were granted membership in the American Chemical Society (ACS), which comprises numerous leading scientific journals and materials that serve various aspects of scientific research across all fields of chemistry.
بعون الله وتوفيقه تم انعقاد المؤتمر العلمي الأول لقسم الكيمياء الصيدلية بكلية الصيدلة جامعة كفر الشيخ يوم العاشر من رمضان 1445 والموافق 20 مارس 2024. وقد شارك في المؤتمر طلاب الفرقة الرابعة بعروض تقديمية متميزة استعرضوا فيها الأدوية الحاصلة مؤخراً على موافقة إدارة الغذاء والدواء (FDA) في إطار تنافسي رائع. هذا وقد حصل الفريق الحائز على المركز الأول على مكافأة مالية قدرها ألف جنيهاً، بجانب حصول جميع الطلاب المشاركين على شهادات تقدير.
أيضا قامت طالبتين من الفرقة ذاتها بعرض تقديمي مميز لملخص بحثي عن ورقتين علميتين للقسم تم نشرهما حديثا في مجلتين (Q1) في تخصص الكيمياء الصيدلية. وقد كرمت الطالبتين بالاشتراك في عضوية الجميعة الكيميائية الأمريكية American Chemical Society (ACS) والتي تضم العديد من المجلات العلمية الرائدة والمواد العلمية التي تخدم شتى جوانب البحث العلمي في جميع تخصصات الكيمياء.
