Today, February 25, 2026, the BTLEd Core Faculty Members, headed by Chairperson Dr. Delsa A. Ariaso, convened with the Extension Chairperson to strategically plan the expansion of Project KASANAYAN.

Project KASANAYAN, which stands for Kaalaman at Abilidad na Sentro at Angkop sa Napapanahong Aksyon โ€“ Yaman at Negosyo, underscores its commitment to developing relevant knowledge and practical skills aligned with present-day demands. As a community-centered extension initiative, the program continues to focus on empowering beneficiaries through sustainable livelihood and skills training.

The meeting centered on concrete strategies to broaden the projectโ€™s reach to a wider group of beneficiaries while sustaining its ongoing implementation at the BJMP. Emphasizing collaboration and responsive planning, the team reaffirmed its shared commitment to delivering impactful and research-based extension services.

Through strengthened coordination and clear direction, the BTLEd faculty moves forward with purpose, translating knowledge into meaningful action for community development.

The School of Teacher Education (STEd) brought its mission of service to the airwaves during the first live session on Radyo Natin Naval, sharing insights on its extension programs and the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) degree.

Ms. Miramar M. Serrion, STEd Extension Chairperson, emphasized the schoolโ€™s commitment to communities in need: โ€œWe Extend to Empower,โ€ reflecting STEdโ€™s dedication to uplift learners, families, and barangays through education, skills development, and inclusive initiatives.

BSNEd faculty members highlighted programs designed to support learners with disabilities, from teacher training to parental guidance and classroom interventions, ensuring every learner has access to quality education.

The School of Teacher Education (STEd) Extension Services of Biliran Province State University held a consultation meeting and proposal presentation for Project INSPIRE with Mrs. Gretchym Dela Peรฑa, Principal of Libtong Daku Elementary School, today, October 17, 2025, at the STEd Faculty Room, BiPSU Naval Campus.

The meeting was led by Ms. Miramar M. Serrion, STEd Extension Chairperson, together with her dedicated team membersโ€”Ms. Jamaica Casas, Ms. Jenny Genoguin, Mr. Sherwin Sarzuelo, Mr. Johnny Sumbise, and Ms. Jergen Casenio.

This collaborative session aimed to present the proposed activities and objectives of Project INSPIRE, designed to address the specific needs of teachers and strengthen their professional growth. Through this partnership, the STEd Extension Team and Libtong Daku Elementary School seek to foster a shared commitment to educational excellence and community empowerment.

The STEd Extension Services conducted a consultation meeting with key stakeholders and presented the draft proposal for Project INSPIRE, set to kick off this month. Led by Project Leader Dr. Robert Jordan, the team was joined by Chairperson Ms. Miramar Serrion, Facilitator Mr. Greggo Legaspi, and Principal Mrs. Christiane Polinar, along with the dedicated teachers of Villa Consuelo Elementary School on October 16, 2025.

This strategic initiative aims to address the target needs of teachers, aligning all activities to enhance their capabilities and ultimately benefit the students. With Project INSPIRE, the partnership between STEd Extension Team and Villa Consuelo Elementary School is poised to make a meaningful impact in the education sector.

The extension video showcases the transformative journey of the School of Teacher Education (STED) at Biliran Province State University in bringing education, skills, and hope beyond the classroom. Highlighting flagship initiatives under the Integrated Community Extension Services Program (ICESP), the video documents how STED has continuously responded to the evolving needs of Biliran communities. All initiatives are research-based, need-based, and aligned with BiPSUโ€™s vision and mission of providing quality instruction, research, and extension for peopleโ€™s empowerment and development. From literacy and numeracy tutorials, youth and teacher empowerment, arts and culture workshops, environmental stewardship, to values formation programs, the video showcases how STED translates these commitments into meaningful service.

At its core, the video highlights Project KASANAYAN, an initiative for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). By equipping them with literacy, values formation, and livelihood skills such as crocheting and handicrafts, the project restores dignity, provides opportunities for income, and rekindles hope for both PDLs and their families. Testimonies and feature clips affirm its deep impact as a model of inclusive, transformative extension.

Through ICESP, STED also advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Climate Action, Good Health and Well-Being, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. More than a documentation of programs, the video demonstrates that STEDโ€™s extensions are milestones of empowerment that embody BiPSUโ€™s mission and core values, creating lasting change in every community it serves.
