Together, the PTO members fully support the school curriculum as well as the students and staff. We are always looking for new members and volunteers.

Water Bottles for a Cause and a Cure
Schalmont Helps out the Environment and the Children of St. Jude Children's Hospital
Happy Friday!
As you know, this Friday students and staff will be drinking from water bottles due to the boil water advisory in Rotterdam. Thousands of water bottles will be available throughout the district as well as the countless number that will come in from home with the students...Why not take a tricky situation and come together as a Schalmont community to make a difference?!?!
On Friday, please encourage students with empty water bottles to place them on the window sill in your classrooms. Bottles cannot be filled at drinking fountains so will just end up in the trash anyways! Explain to students why they are doing this, both to promote recycling in the month of April for Earth Day, as well as to return the bottles and make a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital to help with cancer research.
This is a great opportunity for us all to come together, share a positive message, and do something simple with a huge impact that shows the heart of the Schalmont School District.
Bottles will be picked up at the end of the day by the Environmental Clubs, PTO, and other student groups.

Coin Wars! Battle of the Grades begins April 3rd and ends April 7th. Part of the proceeds will be for St. Jude and part for the PTO. The winning class will receive an ice cream treat from the Schalmont Middle School PTO. So please send in your loose change to help out St Jude and the PTO!! I will post updates on each day to let you know what class is winning ! Who do you think will bring in the most change? 5th? 6th? 7th? Or 8th? 😊

Thank you to all our volunteers at Barnes and Noble bookfair! You can still shop till December 9th online or in the store and mention Schalmont Middle School to help our Pto. If you shop online just use the school code on the flyer below. A special shout out to all our musical students for playing and singing beautifully for all the shoppers to hear ! The calculator that students will use in all common core math classes is on sale at target this week, August 7-August 13. This is a great price and it usually goes up in price in September! 👍 Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer ☀️
