AND THE WINNER IS..... A huge congratulations to the winner of the 2024 Montreal Poetry Prize competition, kizziah burton !!! 💚

The Montreal Prize awards one prize of $20,000 CAD to a poet for a single poem of 40 or fewer lines. A jury of internationally reputed poets and critics selects a shortlist of 65 poems, from which judge a.e. stallings chooses one winner. The shortlist is published in The Montreal Poetry Prize Anthology.

Presentation Tutoring returns to McGill after a successful pilot earlier this year.

Students can come at any stage of a presentation and get feedback on everything from content development, to visuals, to delivery, to managing anxiety. While people may be shy at first to talk about it, speaking anxiety is real.

Fortunately there are proven strategies to help people manage it our tutors are happy to share.

Dr. Andrew Churchill obtained his doctorate in education from McGill University in 2011 after receiving his M.B.A. from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. For the last 10 years he has been working with both academics and business professionals in classes, seminars, professional workshops, and through independent contract work to help them hone their communication skills. His workshops consistently receive excellent reviews from participants, and his excellence in teaching has earned him recognition with a Distinguished Teaching Award from McGill University.

WCOM 627: Communicating Research to the Digital Public is a 1-credit course for graduate students eager to learn about public scholarship through digital mediums. Students will take their research and adapt it to mediums such as infographics, podcasts and blog posts. The course is designed for graduate students at any stage of their program.
