🌿 On Friday, September 12, 2025, our Environmental Club kicked off its first session with special guests Mr. Brenton Quammie, Ms. Samantha DaSilva, and Ms. Moesha Thomas from the Sustainable Development Unit, Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development & Culture.

They engaged our students in an insightful discussion on the implementation of the Environmental Agreement and its role in safeguarding our environment. 🌎 They also highlighted that World Ozone Day will be observed on September 16, 2025 under the theme “From Science to Global Action.” 💚

Students even got the chance to snag some awesome prizes.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, the Environmental Club enthusiastically participated in the SVG Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Management Strengthening Project, contributing to the preservation of our shores by planting coastal vegetation at Diamond Beach. It was a meaningful and hands-on experience in environmental stewardship, helping to protect and enhance the coastline for future generations!

During the 2023/2024 school year, Belmont Government School, alongside the Environmental Club, participated in the CWSA Environmentally Friendly Schools Competition. The awards ceremony took place on February 27, 2025, where the school was honored with 5th place in the competition. A teacher and two students from the Environmental Club represented the school at the event. Congratulations to Belmont Government School and the Environmental Club for this achievement.
