100th anniversary of Oscar Micheaux's "Within Our Gates"

Within These Gates of Mine is an original score for big band by Wycliffe Gordon that features the AU Jazz Ensemble performing live to the silent film Within Our Gates by Oscar Micheaux from the year 1920.

This marks the centennial of the release of this work and we will celebrate and honor this by presenting music that tells this compelling, yet relevant story of relations in our nation.

Come witness the marriage of a classic film from 1920 and the score by Gordon that takes us on a musical journey about one of the most profound subjects. Love for one another.
