China Thinks Big (CTB) is a flagship research and innovation conference under HAUSCR. As the program that pioneered project-based learning in Asia, over the past 14 years CTB has empowered tens of thousands of high school students in China and internationally to tackle real-world challenges with mentorship and structure. This year, we hosted 69 high school teams and brought 200+ finalists to Harvard’s campus for our CTB Global Finals to share their year’s-long research with our community of students and professors. In addition to poster and oral presentation sessions, CTB’ers also engaged in our Hackathon, a 72 hour challenge to come up with an innovative idea on how to employ principles from biomimicry to address an issue on Harvard’s campus. Students heard from Harvard faculty on their related bioinspired and bioengineering research works and expertise and also had the opportunity to conduct field research with our student community.
