Boston University Chinese Music Ensemble Boston University Chinese Music Ensemble (BUCME) consists of students who play traditional Chinese instruments, such as Yangqin, P**a, Guzheng, Dizi, ect.

The ensemble welcomes any students who are interested in Chinese music! Boston University Chinese Music Ensemble (BUCME) is dedicated to enriching the campus with music played by traditional Chinese instruments and to introduce a new form of performance to the campus. The ensemble consists of students who play traditional Chinese instruments such as the Yangqin, Dizi, P**a, and Guzheng, as well as

students who are interested in Chinese music. The ensemble has three main purposes. The first is to enhance appreciation of Chinese music in the campus by conducting musical workshops and demonstrations. The second is to provide opportunities for students to develop interests for Chinese instruments by holding recitals and concerts. The third is to foster communication among music players through attending musical lectures and concerts in Great Boston area. Members will meet regularly to practice pieces of music, perform in various events and hold concerts during academic year. The ensemble also proposes to adapt musical scores, write original scripts, and direct musical plays. Members will be involved in community service through performing and holding fundraising concerts for charitable organizations. The ensemble welcomes any students who are interested in Chinese music. Interested members may participate either by performing in the ensemble or helping organize ensemble events.
