Mountain Home Junior Primary urgently needs our help.
Severe damage to the roof of the school hall and one classroom is leaving learners and teachers exposed to the weather and disrupting teaching and learning.
The school is raising R270,000 for the roof repairs, but support is also needed for roofing materials, building supplies, and construction services.
For the children of Mbutshane and Sweetwaters, this school is an essential part of their community. Help them get back to learning in a safe environment.

In March this year, Masiphumelele High School created their very first campaign on GetGo Fund.
As a Quintile 3, no-fee school in the Southern Peninsula, the school faces the realities of operating with limited resources. Their learner-to-teacher ratio is 37:1, making every member of their teaching staff incredibly important.
One of those teachers is a dedicated Life Orientation teacher who also coaches the school’s chess club. He is not only an important member of the teaching staff, but a mentor to learners and a valued member of the wider school community.
With no government-funded teaching post available for him and no school fees to draw on to fund additional teaching staff, Masi set out to raise R90,000 towards his salary.
Last week, their R90,000 funding goal was reached.
It also wasn't the only win.
In June, one of Masi’s learners attended our free fundraising capacitation workshops - made possible with support from our anchor sponsor, Liberty Group SA. She then took the initiative to create her own campaign on GetGo, raising funds for a tablet to support her studies as she works towards her dream of becoming a general surgeon.
Her campaign was funded too.
We are incredibly grateful to every donor who helped make this happen, and feel inspired by what ordinary South Africans have made possible by choosing to give.
The thought that has stayed with me this past week, and honestly has left me on the verge of tears, is that GetGo is more than a platform for education giving; it's a source of hope for schools facing the enormous funding gaps in our education system.
We saw that hope first-hand when we got to share the news with Masi's school principal (who is honestly one of the most unbelievably passionate and hardworking women we've had the pleasure of meeting).
For a school that has spent years trying to do more with less, having a viable way to find support, mobilise people and fund what their learners need feels like a glimmer of hope in a financially crippled education system.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these two stories possible.
❤️ And a BIG Thank You to MasiSports for their hard work and dedication.
This is what education giving can do.

You asked, and we listened.
In sending out the R67 Mandela Campaign to our network, we received feedback that it is difficult to decide which education campaign to donate to (understandably, every cause is immensely worthy).
In response, we've created a campaign specifically for Mandela Day, with all funds raised split equally across all campaigns.
2 days till Mandela Day. Donate R67 toward our education campaigns to make a positive impact in school communities across South Africa.

The numbers are hard to ignore.
Millions of South African learners are held back by infrastructure gaps that no child should face.
But this is a challenge we can solve together.
Support a verified school campaign and help build better learning environments, one donation at a time.

What does it take to build a school that brings children together across cultural, racial and socio-economic divides?
For Starseed Community School, it's taken years of perseverance, an unwavering belief in a different future for education, and now, the opportunity to finally put down roots in a permanent home.
But the journey isn't over.
Because Starseed's Fair Fee Structure is linked to household income, accessibility has always come before maximising revenue. As the school enters this exciting new chapter, long-term partners are needed to provide the stable operational funding that will help this vision flourish.
If you believe education can help build a more connected South Africa, we invite you to learn more and support Starseed's campaign here:

This Mandela Day, give R67 toward education and help create opportunities that last beyond the day 💙
Not everyone can step away from work to volunteer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make a meaningful impact.
A contribution as small as R67, combined with others, can help fund critical education needs in South African schools and support learners with access to the opportunities they deserve.
Because lasting change doesn’t always start with big gestures – sometimes it starts with one small act, repeated by many.
Donate R67 this Mandela Day and be part of something bigger.
