About: The Mao-den Inner Sanctuary. The large lantern here also deserves a closer look; it is adorned with the 12 zodiac signs. The shrine beyond the stone fence is for Mao-son, the god of the Kurama mountain who is believed to have landed on this very spot six million years ago from the planet Venus. A meteorite is said to be enshrined here. The nearby area to this Sanctuary is called Meditation Dojo, and is known as the high energy place of Mao-son.
