Arkansas AgSTEM Academy is a plan for an Open Enrollment Public Charter School in Arkansas. Arkansas farmers feed the world.

Arkansas AgSTEM Academy is an idea formulated by an industrious group of individuals from Western Poinsett County. After two unsuccessful attempts to establish an Open Enrollment Public Charter School in Weiner, Arkansas, ASSET Foundation, a 501c3 organization, has determined to pass on any future attempts. The ASSET Foundation Board feels that an agriculture focused curriculum is necessary to (1) encourage student interest in advancing ag technology, production, and profitability, (2) provide students with necessary tools to develop highly-qualified skills which make them desirable to employers of ag-related businesses which employ 1 out of every 6 Arkansans, and (3) offer relevant educational opportunities whether students choose a post-secondary or workforce education path. It is the hope of this Board that our efforts of the past years to engage Arkansas Education with Arkansas Ag Businesses will eventually manifest in a working relationship benefitting these businesses, Arkansas students and the Arkansas Ag Economy. Northeast Arkansas students and the growing Arkansas-based international agricultural industry both have unmet needs. More than 50% of the nation's rice supply is produced in Arkansas and up to 40% of Arkansas soybeans are exported and used in international hunger relief programs. The high-tech world of Arkansas agriculture provides a diverse range of career options for our youth. Industry leaders report a growing job demand for well-trained, highly skilled technicians, operators, analysts, bankers, engineers, consultants, educators, researchers, and administrators to support Arkansas agriculture.

Albert Einstein once wrote on a blackboard :
9 x 1 = 9
9 x 2 = 18
9 x 3 = 27
9 x 4 = 36
9 x 5 = 45
9 x 6 = 54
9 x 7 = 63
9 x 8 = 72
9 x 9 = 81
9 x 10 = 91
Suddenly chaos erupted in the classroom because Einstein made a mistake. Obviously, the correct answer to 9 × 10 isn’t 91. And all his students ridiculed him.
Einstein waited for everyone to be silent and said:
“Despite the fact that I analyzed nine problems correctly, no one congratulated me. But when I made one mistake, everyone started laughing. This means that even if a person is successful, society will notice his slightest mistake. And they'll like that.
So don't let criticism destroy your dreams. The only person who never makes a mistake is someone who does nothing."
