After 5 years of academic and clinical learning (total of 230 units), a student of PT receives a degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical/Physio Therapy from a University or College recognized by the CHED.
PT graduates can only practice their profession in the country after issuance of license from the Professional Regulation board of the Philippines.
PT licensure examination is divided into three parts:
I: Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology
II: Medical and Surgical Conditions
III: Physical therapy Applications
Overall, 600 items. Each part is a 200-item exam taken strictly in 4 hours except for PT apps that is taken 6 hours. This means that each questions must be answered not longer than 1 minute and 20 seconds.
Here is an example of a simplified board type question:
A 13 year old female diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy is referred to PT. The patient exhibits slow involuntary continous writhing movements of the upper and lower extremities. The type of motor disturbance is:
A. Spasticity
B. Ataxia
C. Hypotonia
D. Athetosis
E. Ballismus
Physical therapists are members of the Hospital medical allied professionals in partners with Doctors, Nurses, Med techs, OTs, RT's, Pharmacist and more. They had been through a lot to provide patients who has healthcare needs.
