A palavra Nyahbinghi veio de uma sacerdotisa guerreira. A Deusa sekmek era vista tanto como força criativa quanto destrutiva, ela era vista como a deusa da guerra, ela representa a leoa. Entre kush*tes, nubians e africanos centrais, sekmek era sinônimo do nome Nyahbinghi. A tradição oral afirma que a rainha Nyahbinghi foi uma rainha kush*te que se rebelou contra a injustiça em seu reino quando criança e fugiu para a floresta do congo, onde organizou um exército de guerrilha e retomou seu trono tornando-se a Rainha das Rainhas. Muitas mulheres que lutaram pela liberdade ao longo dos anos foram consideradas possuídas pelo espírito de Nyahbinghi.
A palavra Niya significa preto e binghi significa vitória. Nyahbinghi é um princípio importante entre nós da comunidade Rastafari. Quando invocamos seu espírito através dos tambores, chamamos os elementos naturais em nosso auxílio, relâmpagos e trovões de terremotos que deram o nome aos tambores, Rainha Nyahbinghi. Os tambores sempre foram usados para soar o alarme de guerra. O Rei Emmanuel disse que os tambores Nyahbinghi são nossa munição para matar os perversos e nos dar a vitória do bem sobre o mal. The word Nyahbinghi came from a warrior priestess. The Goddess sekmek was seen as both creative and destructive force, she was seen as the goddess of war, she represents the lioness. Amongst kush*tes, nubians, and central Africans, sekmek was synonymous to the name Nyahbinghi. The oral tradition states that queen Nyahbinghi was a kush*te queen who rebelled against injustice in her kingdom as a child and fled to the congo forest where she organized a guerrilla army and retook her throne becoming the Queen of Queens. Many female freedom fighters over the years have been said to be possessed by the spirit of Nyahbinghi.
The word Niya means black and binghi means victory. Nyahbinghi is a important principle amongst us the Rastafari community. When we invoke her spirit through the drums we call the natural elements to our aid, earthquake lightening and thunder that's who we named the drums after, Queen Nyahbinghi. The drums was always use to sound the alarm for war. King Emmanuel said the Nyahbinghi drums are our ammunition to kill the wicked and to give us victory of good over evil. Nyahbinghi order to walk through the earth like a living man and woman!🙌🏿🇬🇭
