Taking place in the culturally rich city of Bologna—renowned for its cinematic heritage—the IFA Masterclass brings together emerging filmmakers from around the world for an intensive programme of workshops, mentorship, and creative exchange. This exceptional opportunity allows participants to engage with industry professionals, gain international perspectives, and refine their artistic vision.

香港演藝學院電影電視學院的四年級本科生林景燊（Kingson），獲選參加於意大利博洛尼亞舉行的International Filmmaking Academy (IFA) 大師班。

IFA 大師班於歷史悠久、文化底蘊深厚的博洛尼亞舉行，匯聚來自世界各地的新晉電影人才，透過一系列密集式工作坊、導師指導及創意交流活動，讓學員與業界專業人士互動，拓闊國際視野，並深化其創作理念。

【業界講座圓滿結束｜連結學院與電影業界】

由香港演藝學院電影電視學院舉辦的「業界講座：香港電影製作行政人員協會及香港電影副導演會聯合分享會」已於2026年6月15日順利舉行。

是次講座邀請到來自兩個本地極具代表性的專業屬會——香港電影製作行政人員協會及香港電影副導演會的資深從業員，與同學分享香港電影業的實際運作、當前產業生態以及未來發展趨勢。

透過深入交流與第一手經驗分享，同學不僅加深了對行業崗位與製作流程的理解，也對未來職涯發展方向有了更清晰的想像。講座同時成為建立專業網絡、促進學界與業界交流的重要平台。

感謝各位嘉賓蒞臨分享，以及同學們的踴躍參與，讓本次活動得以圓滿完成。我們期待未來繼續舉辦更多連結業界與創作的交流活動。

【Seminar Recap | Bridging Academia and the Film Industry】

The Industry Seminar featuring the Hong Kong Movie Production Executives Association and the Hong Kong Film Assistant Directors’ Association was successfully held on June 15, 2026.

Bringing together experienced industry practitioners, the seminar provided valuable insights into the current landscape, production workflows, and emerging trends of the Hong Kong film industry.

Through engaging discussions and firsthand sharing, students gained a deeper understanding of professional roles and industry practices, while also gaining clarity on their future career paths. The event also served as a meaningful platform for networking and exchange between academia and the industry.

Our sincere thanks to all guest speakers and participants for making this seminar a great success. We look forward to more opportunities that connect learning with industry practice in the future.

【動畫與影像對話】
拜訪中國美術學院動畫及遊戲學院，拓展創作視野

除了紀錄片工作坊，香港演藝學院電影電視學院師生代表團此次杭州之行，亦特別拜訪了中國美術學院動畫及遊戲學院，並獲該院院長劉健導演及副教授李佳佳主任親自熱情接待。

會面中，劉健院長與電影電視學院師生分享了多部優秀的學生作品，並大方細談他與學生共同創作長篇動畫的寶貴經驗。雖然香港演藝學院電影電視學院並未設有獨立的動畫系，但學院現有的「影視數碼媒體設計」主修，亦涵蓋了動態圖形（Motion Graphics）等視覺設計的專業訓練。這次跨領域的交流，正好為兩校師生打開了影像創作的更多可能。

隨後，劉健導演更帶領同學們實地參觀了動畫工作室，讓同學近距離感受專業動畫的製作氛圍與工序。這次緊湊而務實的拜訪，讓演藝同學在課堂以外獲益良多，亦為兩院未來的跨學科交流留下了想像空間。

[Creative Synergy] HKAPA x CAA: Visiting the School of Animation and Games to Expand Creative Horizons

Expanding on the documentary workshop, the faculty and student delegation from the School of Film and TV at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) also visited the School of Animation and Games at the China Academy of Art (CAA) during their time in Hangzhou. The group received a warm welcome from Dean Liu Jian, a renowned director, and Associate Professor Li Jiajia, Director of the department.

During the meeting, Dean Liu Jian shared outstanding student works and offered rare insights into his firsthand experience collaborating with students on feature-length animation projects. Although the HKAPA School of Film and TV does not offer a dedicated animation department, its Film and TV Digital Media Design major provides robust, professional training in visual elements like motion graphics. This cross-disciplinary dialogue opened up new creative possibilities for students and faculty from both institutions.

Director Liu Jian then guided the students on a tour of their animation studios, offering a closer look at professional production environments and pipelines. This brief yet impactful visit proved immensely rewarding for HKAPA students beyond the classroom, inspiring fresh perspectives on visual storytelling and leaving great potential for future interdisciplinary exchanges between the two schools.

【香港演藝學院電影電影學院 x 中國美術學院電影學院】
紀錄片創作工作坊圓滿舉行：從課堂到西湖，探尋紀錄片影像邊界可能性

由香港演藝學院電影電視學院與中國美術學院電影學院攜手舉辦的「紀錄片創作工作坊」，於 2026 年 6 月 8 日至 14 日在杭州展開。由電影電視學院牽頭策劃的跨地域教學實踐，意在透過七天的雙城對話，將課堂思維延伸至在地拍攝，重新思考紀實影像的當代意義。

電影電視學院的教學著重與影視產業流程的緊密對接，強調實踐與專業視野；而中國美術學院電影學院則根植於深厚的視覺傳統，偏重作者本位與詩意美學。兩院在紀錄片教學的起點上，既有對真實與倫理的共同關懷，亦在美學與製作實務上形成相互研習與互補。

工作坊由杜海濱與曾翠珊兩位導師共同指導。 6 月 9 日，電影電視學院師生代表團抵達中國美術學院象山校區，實地考察教學設施並進行交流。開課儀式上，中國美術學院電影學院黨委書記兼副院長盛晨霞更前來致詞歡迎師生。隨後，兩校導師由香港演藝學院電影電視學院的教學成果談起，延伸至西湖國際紀錄片大會（IDF）的國際紀實生態，並透過精選作品放映，引導同學進入創作狀態。

在交流進程中，兩地學生圍繞「在地創作」與「作品放映」展開緊湊對談。同學拿著攝影機走入杭州街頭，從西湖邊的日常觀察，到快閃式的城市影像禮記。這次交流純粹用實作說話，連結起兩地青年的影像觸覺，讓同學在個人風格與工業規範之間找到新平衡。

[Chronicles of Two Cities] The School of Film and TV , HKAPA and The School of Film Art, CAA Jointly Launch Documentary Filmmaking Workshop

From June 8 to 14, 2026, the "Documentary Filmmaking Workshop," jointly organized by the School of Film and TV at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) and the School of Film Art of the China Academy of Art (CAA), was successfully held at the Xiangshan Campus. Over the seven-day journey, a delegation of faculty and students from HKAPA engaged in high-density academic exchanges and localized creation with their CAA counterparts, exploring the boundaries of documentary cinema through masterclasses, screenings, and field shooting around the West Lake.

School of Film and TV, HKAPA 's film education is renowned for its industry-aligned curriculum and hands-on approach, preparing students for professional workflows. In contrast, The School of Film Art, CAA bases its vision on the film noumenon and the exploration of future images, focusing on film author consciousness and poetic aesthetics. Despite these distinct pedagogical roots, both institutions share a profound respect for truth and ethics, allowing their unique strengths to spark meaningful dialogue and creative synergy.

The workshop was guided by acclaimed filmmakers Du Haibin and Tsang Tsui-shan. On June 9, the HKAPA delegation toured the Xiangshan Campus to explore its creative spaces and facilities. At the welcome ceremony, Sheng Chenxia, Party Secretary and Vice Dean of The School of Film Art, CAA, highly supports the idea of documentary filmmaking workshop . The program kicked off with the mentors introducing HKAPA’s achievements alongside the global landscape of the West Lake International Documentary Festival (IDF), setting an inspirational tone through curated screenings.

Throughout the week, students from both regions not only showcased their films but also immersed themselves in rapid local filmmaking, capturing the urban pulse of Hangzhou. Utilizing practice as the needle and exchange as the thread, this workshop inspired HKAPA students to bridge the gap between auteurism and professional production. It not only deepened their understanding of contemporary society and image culture but also forged meaningful friendships, laying a solid foundation for future collaborations.

【學院焦點：大師作品校園首映與深度對談】
演藝學院電影電視學院向來為學生提供豐富的放映與交流機會。學院每週均為同學安排專屬的影院觀影時光，讓大家先睹為快最新的優秀電影作品，更有機會與資深電影人面對面直接對談。

早於今年四月份，學院便舉辦了特別放映會，邀請到同學率先欣賞著名剪接師雪美蓮（Mary Stephen）的最新自傳式紀錄片《隱蹟之書：重寫自我》（Palimpsest: The Story of a Name）。

當天 Mary 更親臨現場與同學碰面交流。Mary 花了大量心思與時間整理家族歷史，片中其父親所留下的珍貴影像，記錄了難得一見的非官方老香港日常生活片段，對於電影電視學院的同學而言，絕對是一堂極具啟發性的影像歷史與剪輯大師課。
期望同學們能透過這次難得的機會，用心分析大師級作品的敘事與剪接技巧，並將啟發轉化為未來的創作養分！

【FTV School Highlight: Exclusive Campus Screening & Master Dialogue】
Students at the HKAPA’s School of Film and Television are privileged to enjoy a wealth of screening resources and industry engagement. Every week, dedicated cinema sessions are arranged for our students, offering them exclusive previews of the latest cinematic works and the invaluable opportunity to engage in direct dialogues with filmmakers.

Back in April, the School hosted a special screening featuring Palimpsest: The Story of a Name, the latest autobiographical documentary by the acclaimed film editor Mary Stephen, who is well-known as the collaborator of the legendary French director Éric Rohmer.

We were honored to have Mary join our students in person for an inspiring exchange. Through the film, Mary has dedicated immense time and care to archiving her family history. The precious footage left by her father offers a rare, non-official glimpse into the daily life of old Hong Kong. For our film students, this session served as a deeply inspiring masterclass in both visual history and the art of editing.

We trust that our students will carry forward the insights gained from analyzing this masterwork and channel them into their own future creative journeys!

電影電視學院與戲劇學院攜手舉辦為期兩天的 Acting for the Screen 工作坊，促進表演藝術與影像創作之間的跨界交流。

電影電視學院導演及攝影主修的學生，與著名演員、戲劇學院校友張繼聰(Louis)緊密合作。Louis 擔任工作坊的表演指導，透過實務練習與專業分享，指導學生調整鏡頭前的表演，並加深他們對影視演員表演及導演與演員合作關係的理解。

The School of Film and Television collaborated with the School of Drama to present a two-day Acting for the Screen Workshop, fostering meaningful exchange between performers and screen creators.

Students from the Directing and Cinematography majors at FTV School worked closely with celebrated actor and School of Drama alumnus Louis Cheung, who served as the acting coach. Through practical exercises and in-depth guidance, Louis supported students in refining acting performances and deepening their understanding of screen acting and actor–director collaboration.

工作坊邀請香港首部全 AI 動畫電影《九宵》的主創團隊親臨分享，透過放映、創意對談、技術示範及實作製作，帶領參加者深入探索在 AI 時代中，創意決策、藝術主權與跨媒介創作的新可能性。學員更親身體驗 AI 動畫製作流程，創作屬於自己的原創短片。

BFA1 students from the School of Film and Television transformed space into storytelling, and showcased their works in the exhibition "Stories in the Room: Identity, Objects, and Narrative".

Through a hands-on art direction workshop led by Hong Kong Film Awards–nominated Art Director Ceci Fok, students designed their own “rooms”—using objects, textures, and spatial choices to express identity and narrative without a single line of dialogue.

Each room became a world of its own.
Each detail carried a story.
