This fan page is so that you may get weekly updates on upcoming performances, concerts, recitals, fundraisers, ect.. We, as a music department, would love audiences and supporters to come and attend as many events as possible. This fan page is also to provide to the community a chance to take part and witness the many talents here at St. Mary's University and to open the doors for further support from our campus community.

Happy National Band Director’s Day to Dr. Matthew Mireles, Director of Bands at St. Mary’s University!

Today we celebrate his outstanding leadership, artistry, and dedication to music education. Recently, Dr. Mireles was a finalist for the 2025 American Prize in Conducting and the recipient of the 2025 St. Mary’s University President’s Excellence Award — honors that reflect his passion for excellence both on and off the podium.

Beyond the awards and accomplishments, Dr. Mireles has made a lasting impact as a teacher, mentor, and advocate for students. He has guided and inspired countless current and future music educators, helping shape the next generation of leaders in music education and performance.

Thank you, Dr. Mireles, for your commitment to artistry, education, and the St. Mary’s community.

The St. Mary’s University Rattler Band lit up the streets of San Antonio and brought home 1ST PLACE at the Fiesta Flambeau Parade! 🔥🎺🥁

From the energy, to the sound, to the pride, our students represented St. Mary’s at the highest level. This is what dedication, passion, and Rattler spirit looks like. 💙💛

We are incredibly proud of every single member of this group for an unforgettable performance in front of 800,000 people in attendance, and 2 million watching on TV.
