MEMORIAL DAY

The year 2022 started on a sad note for this " Saint Paul" Tschida family. We lost not one, but 2 brothers to cancer within weeks of each other.

Today is a particularly appropriate day to remember their lives not only as brothers, but also because both of them were US Veterans. Nicky was a veteran of the Vietnam war; and Tommy chose a military career making him a veteran of the Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq wars.

Tommy's life travels and Air Force career took him to California. So since the past 45 years have taken place in the Mojave Desert, his celebration of life services took place in Silver Lakes California on Saint Patrick's day, March 17th 2022. A most noteworthy date for an "Austrian-Irishman" from St. Paul Minnesota!

Nicky's life travels remained in St. Paul Minnesota with the intermittent music pursuits taking him to parts unknown! But his final decision was to part with his Saint Paul roots and venture to New Mexico, where the climate was far more favorable to an avid, aging walker! A private inurnment is scheduled for this summer at Fort Snelling.

St.Paul is a "family unto itself" and we have received hundreds of kind and loving words from family, friends and even just the Saint Paul community in general.

Since their lives took them to distant cities away from St Paul, we have decided to gather for an evening of sharing memories and just celebrating a couple of local lads!!

Film Production Tax Credit Draws Indie Film With Star-Studded Cast To St. Paul The bright lights of Hollywood have made it to the streets of St. Paul. Crews are filming an independent movie based on a novel by an author with Minnesota connections.

Hello everyone!

Our classmate, Tom Whitney, has passed away.

Whitney, Thomas C 72, Formerly of St. Paul passed away expectantly on May 16, 2021 at his home in Kent Washington. Preceded by parents Claude and Louise and his brother Brian. Survived by his wife Evelyn Whitney, his children Larry (Angela), Patricia Kroona (Scott), Tom Jr., 4 bonus kids, Trish, Steven, Will and Mark, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his brother Blair, and nieces. Tom was from St. Paul and graduated from Highland Park Senior High in 1966. He enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in Viet Nam. In 1983 Tom reinlisted in the Minnesota National guard and served for four years. In 1987 he moved to Kent Washington to work at the VA Hospital in Seattle. A private military service was held in Kent Washington.

Joan (Watchman) and Lew Smith died in a fire in their home Thursday. This is such a sad loss.
