Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) is pleased to welcome Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder as the new Dean of the Faculty of Law.

Professor Dr. Talukder is a distinguished legal scholar with more than 28 years of experience in legal education, research, and academic leadership. Prior to joining GUB, he served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and as the Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh. Throughout his academic career, he has taught at several renowned public and private universities across the country.

His areas of expertise include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Labour Law, Property Law, and Legal and Constitutional History of Bangladesh. A prolific academic and researcher, Professor Dr. Talukder has authored 14 books and numerous scholarly publications. His books, particularly on Administrative Law and Transfer of Property, are widely recognized and serve as important reference materials for students, researchers, and legal professionals across Bangladesh.

The appointment of Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder reflects Green University of Bangladesh's continued commitment to strengthening academic excellence, advancing legal education, and promoting high-quality research. The Department of Law of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) organized a reception programme on 19 July 2026 to welcome Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder as the newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law and to honor Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, the immediate past Acting Dean, for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the Faculty.

The programme was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, who welcomed Professor Dr. Hassan Talukder and expressed confidence that his vast academic experience and leadership would further strengthen legal education, research, and academic excellence at the Faculty of Law.

The event was attended by Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer of Green University of Bangladesh; Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean of the Green Business School and immediate past Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Chairperson of the Department of Law; Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Proctor and Associate Professor of the Department of Law; along with faculty members and students.

During the programme, the distinguished guests congratulated Professor Dr. Hassan Talukder on his appointment and expressed appreciation for the dedicated service of Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz as Acting Dean. A commemorative crest was presented to Professor Dr. Aziz in recognition of his valuable contributions to the Faculty of Law.

Professor Dr. Hassan Talukder, a distinguished legal scholar, previously served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh. In his remarks, he thanked the university authorities, faculty members, and students for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing legal education, research, and academic excellence at GUB.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Chairperson of the Department of Law.
