Our FFA chapter has spent the last three days at the 98th annual Illinois State Convention. Each day brought new opportunities for every member. We got to meet new people, walk around the college and career fair, watch awards and talents, and make many lifetime memories.
On the first day of State Convention, Colton Lybarger and Myles Baker-Thomas got the honor to go on stage and accept Illini Centrals award for being the winners of section 12 for the “Harvest for all” contest. Jax Nissen and Evan Lemme also went across stage and accepted our bronze National Chapter award.
On the second day of State Convention, Ephraim Newton and Colton Lybarger walked across the stage and received the highest degree you can get in Illinois FFA, the State FFA degree.
On the third day of State Convention, Colton Lybarger and Myles Baker-Thomas were delegates for the election of the new state officer team. Our former section 12 president, Bryer Nelson, got elected as state FFA president. We got to watch Ephraim Newton carry in the flag as the new FFA Section 12 President. To end the last day of State Convention, we watched Ephraim go onstage to be installed with the new state officer team. Overall, over the three State Convention days, our chapter had an amazing time and can’t wait until next year!
