This is an initiative from Ecoversities, an Alliance learners and communities reclaiming diverse knowledges, relationships, and imaginations to design new approaches to higher education. What might the university look like if it were at the service of our diverse ecologies, cultures, economies, spiritualities and Life within our planetary home? Our vision

The Ecoversities Alliance is committed to

radically re-imagining higher education to cultivate human and ecological flourishing. Ecoversities seek to transform the unsustainable and unjust economic, political and social systems/mindsets that dominate the planet. Our hope
Supporting learners and communities around the world to reclaim their own processes of un/learning, knowledge co-creation and sharing, and community building. Inspiring, nourishing, connecting, and giving visibility to diverse eco-versities initiatives around the world. Building solidarities, collective inquiries, inter-cultural dialogue, and new experiments in higher education. Nurturing an ecology of knowledges, radical pedagogies, and learning commons which expands human consciousness and cultural and ecological regeneration. Our actions
The Ecoversities Alliance is a trans-local community of over 100 transformative learning spaces from around the world who have been meeting and working together since 2015 through international and regional gatherings, learning exchanges, campaigns, workshops, learning journeys, film festivals, and publications. https://ecoversities.org/

Happy full moon 🌕

We share today that the water has broken on one of our projects and we have birthed a collective child. She takes the form of a book! This is a tapestry of stories from the alliance, stories of people who are now at the loom, weaving back the world. It is our attempt to give a glimpse at the mycelial web that makes us who we are, and to share stories of the other worlds, the many streams, that are already pulsing into life.

This printed version includes practices for facilitators, educators and individuals to deepen your relationship with the stories. We wish it to be a portal to more community connections, to forests, to schools and we invite you to step in. It is also now available to be ordered, link in bio.

This book, like the gathering it documents, emerged from the collective efforts of many hands, hearts and minds. While the medium of the written word often transmits an aura of disembodied universality transcending time and space, all writing is the product of the particular context in which it emerged, which leaves a mark as indelible as the terroir of any wine. In the case of this book, that context is the soil of Thailand and the dozens of generous local friends whose hospitality made it possible for us to gather together in celebration and curiosity during the course of this unconference. The Sak Yant (สักยันต์) designs that grace the cover of this book being one marvellous example, arising from the snycretic blend of Indian ta***ic buddhist yantras with indigenous Thai pre-buddhist animist practices & cosmology.

Students from YIP Sweden are visiting in Udaipur for internships, continuing to weave connections across the Ecoversities Alliance. Encounters like this remind us that learning is alive — rooted in relationship, exchange, diversity, and the courage to step into new contexts with openness and care.

The network keeps growing, embracing more voices, more territories, and more ways of learning. We remain eternal learners, walking together and discovering, once again, that another education is already being lived.

REC 5.0 gathered nearly 1000 participants, 120+ contributors, 70 sessions, and a beautiful constellation of people from across the Earth — from Brazil to India, Greece to Benin, the Himalayas to Australia, Egypt, China, Pakistan, the Philippines, France, the United States and beyond.

Together we remembered something simple and powerful:
Even in the age of AI, the most meaningful technology is still being together,
listening, learning, and reimagining education
with the cycles of life.

As our 2025 Post Growth Alliance program comes to a close, we’re sitting with the expansive year that has passed. The Post Growth Alliance (PGA) is a hub and cooperative service for aligned groups.

In 2025, the PGA included 33 new and returning organizations from around the world building futures beyond capitalism.

From Pakistan to Ecuador, we collectively uplifted community efforts to shape wellbeing economies, reaching over 200,000 accounts and garnering nearly 10,000 link clicks – all without paying for ads and boosts.

✨ To close the Re-Imagining Education Conference we hope to bring out all the unique and creative gifts and skills of this community. To do so, and to close the conference with a celebration, we have planned a Carnival!

This is a REC tradition that we are excited to be continuing. The intention is to bring together everyone, from all hemispheres, to close out this Conference! 🌍🌎🌏

We invite any/all offerings (i.e. singing, dancing, storytelling, poetry, improv, comedy, music, juggling etc.).
