Let's talk about jealousy.
YHVH calls Himself a jealous God (Exodus 34:14), so jealousy itself is not sin or evil. But have you asked why His jealousy is righteous?
Survey the scriptures. YHVH over His people (Exodus 34:14). The husband over his woman (Numbers 5:14). Phinehas, jealous with God's own jealousy (Numbers 25:11). Elijah, "very jealous for YHVH" (1 Kings 19:10, your translation may say "zealous," it's the same Hebrew word, qana).
Paul, jealous for the assembly he betrothed to one husband in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2).
The pattern: either a head jealous over what is his, or a man jealous FOR the head above him.
Never the reverse.
No authority, no righteous jealousy.
Now search for a woman commended for jealousy. You won't find one. Why? Because the woman belongs to the man, biblically, not the man to the woman (Exodus 20:17, 1 Corinthians 11:3). The body cannot be righteously jealous over its head.
That's why Numbers 5 gives a procedure to the husband when a spirit of jealousy comes over him, believing his wife has been unfaithful. The wife has no power to put a man to a test because she feels jealous. Why? Because faithfulness does not mean the same thing for a man as for a woman: she is bound to one man, while he is bound to the covenants he makes, not to one woman.
Her rights are real and written, food, covering, access to seed to bear his children (Exodus 21:10), but a veto over the door of his house is not among them. Her righteous tool is appeal, like Abigail and Esther. Jealousy without authority is just coveting wearing a costume.
The man belongs to Messiah Yeshua. Not to the woman. "Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls" (Romans 14:4).
If the Master calls His servant to cover another lawfully available woman, who is the first wife to contend with Him over it?
"Is your eye envious because I am generous?" (Matthew 20:15)
The man does not belong to the woman. She cannot be jealous over him without claiming an authority over him that she does not rightfully have. It is insubordination, and scripture does not treat insubordination as a small thing -- it likens rebellion to witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23).
Nothing is more beautiful than the body operating in harmony with the head. When the body acts on its own will against the instructions of the head, we rightly call it disordered. An arm can be lopped off and surely can be "independent", it may even still twitch and move for a minute or two, but we all know how it ends if it doesn't get reattached quickly.
We have been taught a lie for generations now, that female jealousy over a man is good, in fact I see many social media accounts that promote it as though it's funny, it's cute, it's something to be praised in a woman. It's not, it's ugly and it's wicked, it is the inversion of the order, men can and must be jealous over that which belongs to them.
Women must learn that they belong to the man, who has his own Master, and she is not Him.
Test this against His word, see if it is so. Comment below in good faith and I'll try to reply to each.
