🎉 Big news! The School of Nursing and Health Professions’ Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) Program is now officially accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)!

This milestone reflects the dedication of our leadership, staff, and clinical partners, and marks the beginning of an exciting future for our inaugural CRNA students who start this fall! ❤️🖤

The numbers are in, and we’re proud to celebrate that UIW earned the highest NCLEX-RN first-time pass rate in San Antonio based on the 2025 BSN results!

This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, the expertise of our faculty, and the strength of a program that has been preparing compassionate, practice-ready nurses to serve our community since 1931.

🩺✨ Future healthcare professionals in action!

Yesterday, nearly 90 students from 16 high schools joined us for a hands-on Health Professions Discovery Day at UIW! From compounding sugar scrubs with Pharmacy and assessing a simulated patient with Nursing, Nuclear Medicine, and Nutrition, to learning about our one-of-a-kind sports vision clinic, students learned about Osteopathic Medicine, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Music Therapy, and more!

Students got a firsthand look at the many paths to a career in healthcare. They wrapped up the day with lunch on campus and learned how to become a Cardinal from our Admissions team. ❤️🖤

The future of healthcare is bright—and it might just be sitting in a high school classroom today. Thank you to all the future healthcare professionals who joined us yesterday! We’ll see you soon!

They toured the UIW campus, checked out dorm life, explored the UIW School of Nursing & Health Professions, and had a wound packing race in the sim lab! 🩹✨

There were lots of laughs, chaotic teamwork, and maybe a few future healthcare professionals in the group 👀🩺

Happy Birthday to the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale — born May 12, 1820. ❤️

Today, on both Florence Nightingale’s birthday and International Nurses Day, we celebrate a legacy of compassion, advocacy, lifelong learning, and service to others.
