PLS is having its Spring fundraiser this week! We will be selling Finals Week Survival Boxes that include a variety of snacks and words of encouragement. If you are a student, treat yourself or a classmate with one of these boxes that will help fuel your studying and give you the push to finish strong this semester! This is also a great opportunity for family members of pharmacy students to get involved and show support for their future pharmacists! The order form is open from now until Friday, April 19th @ 11:59 p.m. We appreciate your support!

At today's meeting, our speakers were Taylor Matranga, PharmD and Brandon Nguyen, PharmD, AAHIVP! Taylor is a PGY1 Resident at the ULM New Orleans Campus and Brandon is a PGY2 Infectious Disease Pharmacy Resident at the University Medical Center in New Orleans! We had the opportunity to ask them questions about their residencies or just pharmacy in general. We are very thankful that they chose to spend time with us today. At the meeting we also went over officer duties in preparation for elections for our new E-board!

Last Thursday we initiated our new members! We are so excited to have each and every one of you as members of our organization!! Congratulations everyone!! 🥳🥳

This past week some of our PLS members took a trip to Baton Rouge to put on a health fair and advocate at our state capitol! Good job guys! We are proud of you!!

Happy Mardi Gras!! We have our first meeting of the semester on February 27th at noon in B170! We cannot wait to see everyone there!

Today we had our last meeting of the semester. Our guest speaker was Jared Anders, PharmD. He is one of our past PLS presidents. He is currently doing his PGY1 residency in Kentucky. He talked about how he made the transition from student to pharmacist and being a pharmacist in a residency program. He told us the main 4 things that he uses to be a better leader. It included resiliency, time management, responsibility, and ingenuity. He went through them and explained how he uses them day to day to keep himself responsible and on task. He also talked to us about advocacy day and how he got it to be our chapter’s project every year!
