European Studies Association - ESA DLSU

Each day, the world wastes on a staggering scale. These mostly come from food and retail due to their insufficient production and consumption. The United Nations then proclaimed the 30th of March as International Day of Zero Waste. This day serves as putting forward resolutions that fight for decisions focused on waste management and resolving pollution.

As part of the campaign, UN member states engage in activities aimed at contributing and achieving sustainable development. What we eat and what we waste impacts these initiatives and can make or break our push for a more circular future.

The European Studies Association visited Alliance Française de Manille last March 18, 2026. ESA members and officers participated in an institutional tour and activities. Alliance Française de Manille, on the other hand, spearheaded the institutional tour and conducted a short presentation about their organization’s background.

The event was filled with insights and fun! And we look forward to having more events with Alliance Française de Manille.

Bonne journée de la langue française ! 🇫🇷

Aujourd'hui, le 20 mars, nous célébrons la Journée de la langue française des Nations Unies, un événement créé par le Département de l'information de l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour mettre en valeur l'usage du français dans des contextes allant du culturel au diplomatique, ainsi que pour promouvoir son utilisation continue en tant que langue officielle de l'ONU.

Peu de langues ont façonné la culture et les liens humains comme le français. Ainsi, cette journée nous rappelle l'importance du français dans les espaces formels et informels, et nous invite à apprécier comment il a évolué et grandi à travers les 29 nations qui le reconnaissent comme leur langue officielle.

🇳🇱 Bridging Cultures: NED Talks @ DLSU 🇵🇭

The Department of International Studies is inviting the DLSU Community to participate in "Bridging Culture: 75 Years of Netherlands–Philippines Friendship School Fair," and experience NED Talks, a series of short, dynamic, and interactive sessions inspired by the TED Talk format hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in the Philippines.
