With Charlottetown Farmers' Market Co-operative – I just got recognized as one of their top fans! 🎉
Julia paints the Island's beauty and drama with a hint of mystery. Her paintings honor our fragile gift of Nature.
She founded a painter's group called Art Across our Island which fosters and promotes plein air painting primarily in watercolor. Julia also teaches private lessons by prior arrangement and group classes. https://www.facebook.com/sketchbookfan/about/?ref=page_internal

I got down to the Winter Exhibition Opening Reception at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery. And it was wonderful. There was a large turn out with a few familiar faces. I listened to the talk by artist Sarah Maloney and this was a case where words were helpful. It was a multifaceted and varied exhibition. I only got one quick photo but I will visit the gallery again and have another look see.

Everything is going well at the new market location Charlottetown Farmers' Market Co-operative off of North River Road. I recognize many faces and am greeting new people too. Our visitors enjoy the one on one experience that we offer at the market.

Everyone is muddling through this major challenge together. It will be good to see each other again after this shocking fire.
We will be hosting a one-time pop-up market at the PEI Farm Centre this Wednesday, December 31st, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The address is 420 University Ave, located beside the mid-town Sobeys.
We invite you to come out and support our vendors during this challenging time. While not every vendor will be able to attend, we are doing our very best to accommodate as many as possible.
This pop-up is an opportunity for us to come back together as a community, lean on one another, and bring some smiles back after a devastating event. While this is a temporary, one-time solution for now, we continue to explore additional venue options.
Let’s bring the market magic back to your homes ✨

A fire anywhere comes as very unwelcome news on this xmas day morning. It's going to take some time for sure but we will overcome the situation. We have a strong and capable board and manager who are hard at work on the problems.
Charlottetown Farmers Market - Fire 2025-12-25

We have a sad update that early December 25, 2025 there was a fire at the Charlottetown Farmers Market
At the moment the fire is out, and there was no injury or loss of life as the market was unoccupied.
The fire marshall will be doing an investigation on Friday to determine the cause of the fire.
There was significant damage to a portion of the exterior of the building, as well as smoke damage and the power has been shut off, and we have been in touch with our insurance company and the building will be closed, and the water drained.
At this time it looks like the Charlottetown Farmers Market will be closed for the foreseeable future, but please check our social media for more information as we process through this tragedy.
Thank you for all the emergency services personnel that responded, especially on Christmas day!
Please take this time to enjoy your holidays, and cherish your loved ones, and we will have more updates as they come.
A GoFundMe campaign link has been set up for those who wish to support during this time.

Please Note: While the Charlottetown Farmers Market is closed for repairs we will be looking for a temporary space to operate - please check back as this situation evolves.

After a successful day at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market Co-operative I drove down to The Confederation Court Mall and viewed an amazing display of book arts. You should go down. I have played around with beginner book arts with marbling and cyanotype etc but this is way beyond and into the stratosphere. All of the art relates to LM Montgomery. Let me know what you think. .
