A detail from "The Hunter's Funeral", in which the animals of the forest have turned the tables and are bearing a hunter to his grave. A staple of 19th c. Austrian children's books, it was the inspiration for the macabre Funeral March in Gustav Mahler's 1st Symphony. (Princiotti)

This is the week! Finally, after wrapping up production a month ago, our filmed version of La traviata from the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma will be broadcast this Friday, April 9th at 21:30 CEST on RAI3!

I am excited to finally see the finished work!

Meanwhile, this week I am recording my next solo album of French bel canto arias here in Dresden with the incredible Corrado Rovaris, who incidentally conducted my first ever La traviata in Philadelphia. I have been working on these arias and album for almost a year now, so I am nervous, yet excited to lay down these tracks!

Also, if you have read this far, the album single (A Berenice – Sol nascente, KV 70) for my upcoming Mozart Concert Aria album, Ombra Compagna, will drop April 16th! 🥰
